With the rumoured 'not travelled' and injuries, looks like a limited choice of team and subs. Think he'll keep Moura on the bench to bring on to run at tired legs if we need to, plus Sessegnon needs minutes but he's probably not match fit enough to start.

On past form neither Ndombele nor Lo Celso will last 90 mins, but I think we need to start and see how long they do last, but have decent subs available if they do not.

Looks like either Skipp or Tanganga will make the bench, with the one that doesn't being 19th man (unless I've missed someone out !)

Gazzaniga
Foyth, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies
Sissoko, Ndombele
Son, Dele, Lo Celso
Kane

Subs : Whiteman or Austin, Rose, Tanganga or Skipp, Dier, Sessegnon, Moura, Parrott
19th man : Skipp or Tanganga

Not Travelled (?) : Aurier, KWP, Winks, Wanyama
Injured : Lloris, Vertonghen, Lamela

A possible reason why our tunnel is so long is because the distance between the stands and the pitch is quite big. If your eyesight isn't the best you may struggle to see the other side of the pitch from the opposite! Also, from the front of the stand, there is a big drop and a gap, as well as a spiked fence, to ensure no spectators can go on to the pitch. It is impossible to pitch invade at Rajko Mitic stadion, these measures were introduced following past riots.

I believe the anti-fascist element who started out at the club was from 75 years ago, so this is a long distant past for many. Serbia used to be a communist state and many of the buildings and structure still reflect this to this date. The way our city looks is still very different to modern European cities.

In terms of the football, our standard is so much below Tottenham Hotspur. The Serbian league is possibly a similar standard to Championship (top half of the Serbian league) and League One (bottom half of the Serbian league), although I cannot make this comparison with any certainty. This difference of ability has been noticed in our away games in the UCL in the past 2 seasons, we have lost 4-0 at Liverpool, 5-0 at Tottenham, 3-0 at Bayern, 6-1 at PSG and 3-1 at Napoli.

What gives us any sort of chance is our home form, which is quite incredible considering how much lower our standard of football is. The stadium when it is full is very, very intimidating for every team who comes. It is deafening noise, everybody is stood up, and even all our ball boys, camera men, media crew are all passionate Zvezda supporters who cheer and sing through the game. Our home fixtures against the earlier mentioned teams have finished: 2-0 win vs Liverpool, 0-0 draw vs Napoli, 3-1 win vs Olympiakos. So we stand a much better chance at home.

My head is saying Tottenham will be too good for us, as you should be, so the score should really be 0-2/1-3. But with our home advantage we are strangely capable of anything.

Thank you

Line up I think we will see.

Gazza
Aurier - Sachez - Toby - Rose
Winks - Sissoko
Son - Eriksen - Alli
Kane

None of us want Rose to play but he will be well rested, Sess is not ready for a UCL start.

Starting Lo Celso ahead of Eriksen would be preferred by most fans; but I suspect Poch will stick with the players he trusts. Nothing on the pitch suggests to me Eriksen isnt 100% committed and we have seen his dips in form time and time again and Poch has stuck with him.

Alli is still the guy that can play that magic pass and drift behind defenses. Not as good a finisher as Moura but offers more creative play.

Ndom still doesn't seem ready to play beyond 60 minutes and has made his best impact coming from the bench. But please MAKE TO SUB EARLY if needed.

Son....he's fine. Get back to playing.

Red Star 2 (11,65) - 4 Tottenham (Kane 3(pen); Alli 23, Eriksen 40, Ndombele 80)

I'm expecting a big performance from the team to build our hopes up! (just in time for Sheffield to bring us back down to earth at the weekend).

In bold, wtf? seriously WTF?

One of the better line ups, mostly cos its got davies in.
Would be surprised to see lo celso start

Worrying...
And the bit about warning fans NOT to dress as "Tottenham Hotspur supporters"
...is this because they'd be singled out by home supporters who were planning a friendly Belgrade welcome?

That said, for the 200+ Red Star fans who "DRESSED LIKE SERBS" (all clad in black) it still didn't stop them evading our 'eagle eyed' security staff, who, one can only assume were more concerned with making sure all Spurs fans with bags bigger than an A4 piece of paper had to queue seperately outside for 20 minutes with all the other A3 bag weilding Spurs maniacs!!

...and I assume by not dressing like a Spurs fan, they don't mean wearing a "half-and-half" scarf?

Think we need to be sound defensively - that's why I think Davies starts (same on RB start, Aurier is a ticking timebomb who might react badly to the intensity of Red Star stadium hence Foyth at RB).

Think Lo Celso starts as we need to keep Moura (and the inexperienced Parrott) on the bench to shake things up - so betting is Lo Celso can play for an hour before Moura comes on. Alternative is to start Moura but then only have Lo Celso (and Sessegnon, probably even less fit and inexperienced Parrott) on bench as a game changer.

Other option at AM is to have 3 CM's (with Dier or Skipp) and then only need 2 AM's so Lo Celso is on bench to cover AM and CM, with Moura and Parrott on bench as well.

'O' levels were GCSE's ... General Certificate Of Secondary Education. I had 7 in total, 6 in Mathematics and 4 in English.
Then you had CSE's ... Certificate of Secondary Education. In my days I believe a grade 1 CSE pass was equivalent to a grade 5 'O' level pass.
Anything below these and you had a choice of either going up a chimney, serving as a deckhand on a slave ship or Newgate prison... ahhh Happy Days
GCSE was the amalgamation of O levels (GCE ) and CSE

The only way Lo Celso starts is if he wants to rest Eriksen for Sheff utd lets be honest. 'Weaker' team tonight, 'strongest' team the weekend with all the old guard fit to play.

Personally I think we should now be thinking of throwing everything at the cl and the fa cup and fuck the league off-we are going nowhere anyway.

Errm no it wasn't. I sat both GCSE and CSE exams. The 11+ exam saw children qualify either for the local grammar school or secondary modern. Grammar school pupils invariably sat GCSE but some who were not quite as proficient in a subject were allowed to take the CSE version. Secondary Modern pupils usually sat CSE exams but the ones more capable in a particular subject were permitted to sit the GCSE version. As I said before a grade 1 CSE pass was usually accepted as being the equivalent to a grade 5 GCSE pass.

Trust me on this one, unfortunately as my age will indicate "I was there !" :(

I'd be happy to see a back four of the following; all sat back and focused on a clean sheet + Plenty of presence in the middle and pace on the break:

Gazza II
Foyth / Toby / Sanchez / Davies
Sissoko / Winks / Ndombele
Lucas / Kane / Son

Bench: Voorm, Jan, Rose, Dier, Dele, GLC, Sessengon, Parrot
...A win would be huge for our chances of qualification.

COYS!!!!

Yeah maybe if we continue to chop and change every 5 mins.

Would love to see some consistency and with some smart press even if that means blowing up a bit come March. Need to get up the table.

This is true. Not all boroughs had grammar schools but where they did, this was the norm. We didn't have any option to sit CSE. We also weren't allowed to talk to girls from the town.
