From what I understand it's there first team versus our U16's. But I could be wrong. A big physical test to say the least...

U16's sounds a bit of a mismatch.

Our u23's play in the Checkatrade trophy and its clearly a struggle for our lads playing a 'mans team'. I know Bury Town are a level or two below the Checkatrade teams but.....

That's why I suggested if we sent an Academy Year 2 side we might put a couple of older players in the side.

I guess we'll see though

Another of the players we released at end of June, Christian Maghoma, came on as a sub in the 60th minute for his new club Arka Gdynia in the Polish Supercup, which they won beating league winners Legia Warsaw 3-2. Not the jighest rated of leagues but still a decent achievement

Most countries have announced their u19 squads - all have not included many of their top players as the timing coincides with pre-season when many of that age group might be expected to be included in first team squads. A number of clubs have made that point very clearly to uefa suggesting that uefa should have had an u17 tournament at this time of year and the u19 tournament at another time.

I understand the FA have had more than 20 withdrawals from the E u19 squad for that reason (ie almost a whole squad) - however it seems Spurs have nor withdrawn Japhat Tanganga (CB/LB) who has been seen training with England - great shame as with so many WC players away this pre season would be an ideal time to train with the weakened first team squad in US and even get some game time.

Don't know if posted before but we've taken an U-15's (I think) squad to play in the International Champions Cup "Futures". We play an American College youth team tonight at 10:35 that can be streamed Futures! More info on the website but it's a tournament structure with 8 other European teams (including Woolwich and the scousers).
Games are only an hour long so it may be an "interesting" watch if anyone is missing the World Cup and Football that much.

First game seemed to end 0-0 (but my stream cut of in 60 minutes !)

Starting X1 (but feel free to disagree or add extra detail - I don't know all the forenames for example)

Maguire (GK)
Ruell Walters (2), Brandon Bryan-Waugh(5), Jordan Hackett(3), ????(14)
Dante Casanova (4), Khalon Haysman (8)
Renaldo Torraj (10), Brown (15), Roshaun Mathurin (11)
Dane Scarlett (9)

Spurs u21 opponents in Group A - we are one of 6 PL u23 teams to play
DiaL8CfWkAAX2O5.jpg
We're one of 12 Prem teams, not 6. This is just the southern half of the competition.

There's 16 invited teams in total - 12 from the Premier League, and 4 from the Championship that have Category One academies

Youngsters in the 25 man squad going to USA are :

GK's - Brandon Austin, Alfie Whiteman
Defenders - Timothy (TJ) Eyoma (CB/RB),
Midfielders - Luke Amos (CM), Tashan Oakley-Boothe (CM/AM), Skipp (CM/DM)
Winger/AM - Anthony Georgiou (LW),
Striker - Kaziah Sterling

Walker-Peters and Carter-Vickers I guess are regarded as part of the main squad and travel

No Onomah is the biggest surprise, no Edwards suggests either injury or problems with him.

Hope those going get meaningful game time, although goalkeepers might not

Plus of course George Marsh as another DM - really surprised he made the squad

I was talking with a pal who was questioning our pipeline of talent recently and it got me thinking about our future as I couldn't see where he was coming from. I thought I'd share this after looking into it so here we go:

We could field a team consisting of the following in our u23 squad & league games

Whiteman
Carter-Vickers
Sanchez
Foyth
Walker-Peters
Skipp
Winks
Onomah
Edwards
Dele
Parrott

6 of those boys already well and truly a part of the first team squad and a couple who could still blossom. Ouldnt it be lovely to hear that Carter-Vickers, Onomah or Edwards start to click whilst on loan. Anyone with indepth info regarding Parrott it would be most welcome as I think he'll be the next one to come through good and proper.
