You gotta hand it to Jose.
You can bet your life all our ball boys will now be getting the ball back like shit off a shovel when we win a throw.

I can't understand this tinkering.
Barring injuries, start the same team as started on Tuesday. And again on Wednesday against some outfit from Manchester.
Total Games | |
Virgil van Dijk | 50 |
Dejan Lovren | 18 |
Joe Gomez | 25 |
Alisson | 51 |
Andrew Robertson | 48 |
Joël Matip | 31 |
Trent Alexander-Arnold | 40 |
He's our only senior, match-fit left back.
The tactic on Tuesday was for Rose to hold back and allow Aurier on the other wing to press forward.
Rose offered nothing in attack for this reason. It was clearly Mourihno inspired and was new to me.
I don't know where you got your stats from, but these are off the Wiki page:
Liverpool's back 5 play the overwhelming number of games. 'Rotation' is minimal.

You don't like Rose?
Rose is our only fit, specialist left back. Davies in injured, Sessegnon has only played for 20 minutes this season and you want to risk Vertonghen (a CB - yes I know he's played FB for Belgium) after an extended 'injury'?
No thanks. Rose for me.
As for the Liverpool stats.
Allison
VVD
Robertson
TAA played virtually every game.
Last season, Matip I think was injured and Lovren played instead.
So their back 5 played the overwhelming majority of games and therefore get to know and anticipate each other's game - just as our defence should be doing.
I must admit I don't follow your thinking and have no idea why Wanyama has entered the discussion. However to play along, as far as I'm aware, Skipp is ahead of Wanyama in terms of DM. At least he's had minutes this season.Aha, and was being sh*t in defense also part of the tactical plan? Not closing down attackers and failing clearing the ball that led to 1st goal?
If so - then my mistake! Then he followed through the instructions to perfection....
I mean you literally are saying that this position should be more defensively sound in our game-plan, and yet you have issue with playing way better defending player in this position? Just can't get your thinking.
Just like with Rose- after bad start with Olympiacos Wanyama was our only remaining senior DM. But he was not even named to bench. BECAUSE OF PERFORMANCE LEVELS. Even though he was also only senior player of this position.
So you're still disputing that the Scousers have a back 5 that play virtually every game and there is little or no rotation (barring injuries)?I wrote "equivalent of full game" (hence minutes played / 90)
When we talk about playing load, coming on as 85th minute substitute is not the same as playing from whistle to whistle, is that?
Again, not concept hard to grasp in my book.
And I'd rather take a chance on someone else there.

Liverpool don't rotate because they have five classy players that play week in, week out and develop an unconscious understanding of each other's game. This results in them playing as a cohesive defensive unit and anticipate each other's moves and cover any errorsUsing Liverpool as an example with their unsustainable injury luck is not a great example. Look at every other team and you see why squads rotate to keep players fresh and reduce injury risk.
And the they get injured and can’t do that as easily.Liverpool don't rotate because they have five classy players that play week in, week out and develop an unconscious understanding of each other's game. Something that our defence is sorely missing.
Anyway all this talk of the Scousers is making me feel queasy!

No school the next day, so that helps.Any news on whether the ball boy from Tuesday is match fit and available?
And the they get injured and can’t do that as easily.
David Brooks....good player. Glad to see him out.As for the visitors, captain Simon Francis will miss Saturday's game following his red card in the home defeat to Wolves. Phillip Billing is also unavailable through suspension. The Cherries are also without Joshua King and David Brooks. The Norwegian has a thigh injury, while a foot problem means the Welshman is missing.
