Ain’t far though is it?
Also - where to go in Tottenham for a meal out? Apart from the ok Italian San Marco (Bruce Grove) there is naff all!!
There's a nice chicken place on the High Road. Used to be called Bootlaces.

I reckon you are thinking of the Coach and Horses. Its diagonally opposite what was Bootlaces. They have tons of memoribilia in there. The owner is a season ticket holder and he used to own Bootlaces till he sold it to the deadbeats who managed to turn it into a fucking chicken shop.
The Coach has a massive beer garden too. Decent boozer for match days.
Been going there pre-match for years, usually in the back garden, as one of our group likes his ciggies! My usual haunt before a match.
I hope that's true.I will sing and dance if the BQ re-opens, loved that placeHearing both that the Railway and the Queen will be reopening at some point before Xmas.
Yeah, sounds like the old chequers/BootlacesGet that Bootlaces is now a chip shop but does my description match it (pub with bar on the right hand side if looking in)? Thanks
With the size of the new stadium and the amount of bars inside, I would imagine it's likely a few more pubs in the area may well close.
The British Queen was always a little bit whayI hope that's true.I will sing and dance if the BQ re-opens, loved that place

We want the corner pin back.Yeah, sounds like the old chequers/Bootlaces
Bring back the Milford and the British Queen...Those were the days
Having finally moved to Tottenham can I just say it's remarkable how many fucking Gooner shirts I see about! All day every day, and at least twice the number of Spurs tops around town! I've always lived in North London (grew up in Enfield) but I thought the plague was just limited to around there - seems nowhere's safe!
Looks great. With there being so many local craft breweries, it's nice to see somewhere actually selling the stuff within walking distance of the stadiumBy the way the new pub "The Bluecoats" is really nice! Used to be the "Pride of Tottenham" (which was a shit hole).
It does really good burgers from Lucky Chip. The pints are on the pricier side, £5 and up, but obviously catering to a different crowd to the £2 a pint places.
Jolly Oli said:Did The Antwerp have a bunch of Tottenham related pictures on the wall or am I thinking of somewhere else? I was trying to find a pub I went to with my dad a few years back, I seemed to remember it was in that sort of area nearish WHL station but that's all I can remember?
Chequers Plays PoppadomBootlaces was a little further up the high Road, formerly known as the Chequers.
I believe it’s one of them tacky takeaways now.
I take your point however, have the pubs increased their size? Will be a nightmare to get in and get served around the ground I would imagine (wasn't the best as it was, in my experience), people will surely get pissed off with that?

I've always liked the atmosphere in there. I think the millions of workmen have kept it going during our sojourn to Wembley. It's always pretty packed on match days, I would hate it if the Coach went under, one of the few pubs with a proper history and character.
Biggest waste in N.17 at the moment.I really thought that as it hadn't been turned into flats someone was hanging on to refurb and reopen with the new stadium. That was a barn of a place and very well suited, possibly even for an away pub.The Railway.?
