We need the game to be open and we will out play em?
There is no reason for us to expect to lose this, we are playing well at the moment and some players are in form. Palace set themselves up not to lose so end up with a draw, if they play well. The emphases, I feel will be on us to break them down, which can be difficult if they get it right. I'm hoping the occasion of the day will excite the home supporters, transferring this buzz onto the pitch to encourage the Palace to push forward, hence opening the game up which will suit us. We should be up for this and hopefully keeping the current form moving forward.

We will miss Bentaleb and Mason (hopefully not too much). I would like to see Davis back at LB. Although Rose is capable I just feel Davis is better keeping it together at he back ?
Also Soldado back in up front. Our early turn of form included him playing and would suit this tight game.

Crystal Palace host Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park on Saturday 10th January 2015 (KO 17:30) in the 21st round of matches of the 2014-15 Premier League season.

Palace come into the game in 18th place on 17 points with Spurs in 5th place on 34 points. This will be the 95th time the clubs have played each other.

Crystal Palace were founded in 1905 by the builders of the Crystal Palace (hence The Glaziers nickname) and played their first matches at the old Cup Final ground. They joined the Southern League Second Division for season 1905-06 and won promotion at the first attempt.

The first meeting between the two clubs came in the Southern League First Division in October 1906 with Spurs winning 3-0 at White Hart Lane and going on to do the double with a 1-0 away win in February 1907.

The 1907-08 season was the last for Tottenham in the Southern League and the two games against Palace ended with a win each. The clubs also played in the Western League that season with a win for both teams.

Spurs & Palace were regular opponents during the First World War and Tottenham enjoyed a run of nine consecutive wins against Palace during this period.

The first competitive game after WW1 came in the 1st Round (modern 3rd Round) of the FA Cup in January 1924 at The Nest in Croydon with Palace winning 2-0. They had previously played their games Herne Hill, Norwood and moved into their purpose-built stadium at Selhurst Park later in 1924.

Tottenham and Palace played several matches during World War Two with honours generally being fairly even.

Crystal Palace played their first season in the Top Flight of English Football in the 1969-70 season with Spurs winning both First Division matches 2-0. Jimmy Pearce and Martin Chivers got the goals at Selhurst Park while Alan Mullery and Steve Perryman were the scorers at White Hart Lane.

The clubs were also drawn together in the 4th Round of the 1969-70 FA Cup with Palace progressing after a 1-0 win in the replayed match in South London after the first game was goalless at the Lane.

Palace remained in the First Division for a further three seasons with Spurs winning four of the six matches and drawing the other two.

The clubs met in Division Two in 1977-78 with Spurs winning 2-1 at Selhurst Park (Ian Moores & John Duncan) and Palace getting a 2-2 draw at the Lane with Glenn Hoddle scoring a brace for Spurs. Tottenham won promotion at the end of that season. Crystal Palace were back in the First Division for season 1979-80 and both matches against Tottenham were drawn.

The first Football League Cup game came in September 1980 with a 0-0 3rd Round draw at White Hart Lane followed by a 3-0 win at Selhurst Park in the replay with Ricky Villa, Glenn Hoddle and Garth Crooks all scoring.

The Eagles were founder members of the Premier League in 1992-93 but only lasted a season before being relegated. They returned for the 1994-95 season but fared no better and were again relegated. Their third season came in 1997-98 but failed to establish themselves and were relegated.
Palace were back again for the 2004-05 season but once again dropped down to the Championship.

The game at Selhurst Park in August 2013 was settled by a 50th minute Roberto Soldado penalty after Dean Moxey handled Aaron Lennon's cross. Spurs completed the Double over Palace with a 2-0 win at the Lane in January 2014 with goals from Christian Eriksen and Jermain Defoe.

Crystal Palace were unlucky not to win at White Hart Lane in the December 2014 Premier League game which finished in a goalless draw.

The eleven Premier League matches played between the two clubs resulted in four wins to Spurs and two to Palace with five games drawn.

Overall, Tottenham have won 42 of the 94 matches played so far with Crystal Palace winning 25 games and the remaining 27 drawn.

Always had a soft spot for Palace. Decent fans. I like "glad all over" and all that. BUT Pardew is a tool and has embarrassed himself on day one of the job at Dover moaning about walking 100 yards from the coach to the ground. He will get a fucking shock at the lack of inprovement in Palace's facilities - no ensuite in the manager's office, no Moulton Brown in the soap dispensers etc.

No Jedinak - he's their heart beat. Dembele could run this game if he fancies it - he is looking so much fitter than last season. Will be key seeing how Eriksen plays - only one of our players who MIGHT be looking a bit tired. 0-3.

We got this. COYS.

I shouldn't even be bothered by this but does it bug anyone else that they play "Glad All Over"?

A song that written and made famous by the Dave Clark 5, all being residence of Tottenham with them being a huge Spurs supporter (they started the band to raise money for a Spurs trip to Holland). That should be our song damnit! Maybe there's a piece of history I don't know of.

its north but not London?
I sure Blackpool adopted the song also, when they were in the prem?

Lawro has this as a 2-0 home win so the three points are in the bag.
Fucking Christ, unbelievable, he didn't even mention our win against Chelsea in his prediction. He said they were unlucky not to beat us last time and he expected Palace to win because of that. Utter biased moron.

Thought I'd put his 'musings' on here for posterity.

Crystal Palace v Tottenham (17:30 GMT)

“The atmosphere for Pardew's first home game in charge of the Eagles could play a big part in the outcome”

Tottenham have only lost twice away from home in the Premier League this season - to joint leaders Manchester City and Chelsea - which is a great record.

But Crystal Palace were a bit unlucky not to beat them at White Hart Lane at the start of December, and they will have another go at them on Saturday.

The atmosphere for Alan Pardew's first home game in charge of the Eagles could play a big part in the outcome, and I have a feeling that he will mark it with a victory.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Fucking Christ, unbelievable, he didn't even mention our win against Chelsea in his prediction. He said they were unlucky not to beat us last time and he expected Palace to win because of that. Utter biased moron.

He also neglects to mention that Bolasie and Jedinak will be missing for Crystal Palace.
Funny that Liverpool-biased Lawrenson would do his best to play down our improved form and squad cohesion. Prick.

(weirdly, he actually predicts Liverpool will drop points. I reckon he's just trying to get in on the Juju train while it's still hot)

Most Palace fans hate Spurs, based on my experience. Not in the same way they hate Brighton and Millwall obviously but they're no different from the rest of the London fanbases, in thinking we are a right bunch of cunts. Tbf our once-amazing, but now shite atmosphere does mean we are known as fickle and self entitled. But it works both ways. Palace have a great home atmosphere at the moment but they do seem quite anorak about it when they go on about how they're the best fans in the history of the universe.

I know that this season they've been saying they struggle at home against teams who sit deep and play on the counter (like Sunderland who beat them 3-1 that way), and they play better against teams who play an open attacking game (like Liverpool who Palace beat 3-1). So maybe they won't sit back themselves. Bolasie is a big loss for them though as Zaha isn't as good. Jedinak is too of course but they've got other quality midfielders in Ledley and Mcarthur. If we can find enough creativity from our midfield, could see this being an entertaining game (now I've said that it'll be like watching paint dry).
