It's called a 10 year coefficient - but that description is a misnomer as it does not include the fact that within that coefficient calculation clubs get extra points for past titles and European cups, so for the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid et Al they get an extra 40 points for their performances in 70s and 80s. Spurs get 3 extra points for our cup winners cup, 2 UEFA cups.
This shows how the points have been calculated.

Reason why this coefficient has been (rightly) criticised is that these points for old European competitions are in perpetuity, so gives the likes of Liverpool Chelsea Real Madrid Barcelona et Al a very big ongoing financial advantage, irrespective of recent form
Take out both our and Liverpool's bonus points for old wins and Spurs would have s higher 10 year coefficient than Liverpool !
Just shows the folly of not taking the Europa cup seriously in the past.
58 million euros already is a nice haul.
Absolutely not. The game has been rigged. We didn't know at the time that the coefficients would abandon more or less any distinction between the EL and CL so that the recent elite would be heavily rigged to remain that way. Last season Spurs and Woolwich ended with an identical European Coefficient. That reflects how much has changed since we were last performing in the EL.Just shows the folly of not taking the Europa cup seriously in the past.
So Kevin Keegan is due a bonus?
Question: looking at a prediction for next yearDeloitte Money List out - Top London Club for the first time since the EPL began.
Question: looking at a prediction for next year
Revenue will increase because 19/20 will mean a full season of using our stadium (matchday income increase) but a decrease in CL money if we don’t reach the final again/ don’t qualify for next season
Do you feel this would mean an overall increase or decrease in revenue?

Sounds about right. 40m a year total outlay. You get a stadium sponsor for 20m a year. Then that nets off to 20m a year outlay for the stadium. On increaed revenues of 450m a year. 20m is sod all.
And people say Levy is holding us back!!

Very cool brother , on - field performances are a drag , so last century .On the plus side Barca, Manu Utd, PSG have all seen massive increases through sponsorship rather than on-field performance, DL is holding out

Maybe we can sign more loan bench warmers or
players that take 3 years to bed in.
Dig the new vibe dude.
Haha .... think you missed the bit where I said we should spend fortunes this coming summer ... the point about finance that those three clubs have proven is that you can survive a bad season (yup we're having one now) without it crippling you financially ...
There is no excuse to not go big in the market, we will have about 300m in cash and about 100m in extra wages budget that we could spend without breaching FFP rules. Why do you think Mourinho signed on?
it’s pretty clear to me that Poch thought he was going to get to invest heavily too and enjoy us finally acting like a big club, but levy Had him fooled. Mourinho must surely have believed he was going to have money to spend though.
levy’s summer excuse will be no champions league and stadium sponsor imho.
You do realise our increased income is from last season not five years ago - Poch got to spend 114 million last summer and we went backwards ... it was the 'big time' that got all a bit much for Poch.
Like him or hate him this is Mourinho's playground, big club loadsamoney, so will he do a Chelsea with 7 trophies or a Man Utd with only 2 trophies .... either way we will all be happy and he will have moved on .... let's just enjoy the ride.
