Jesus, the stuff you have to deal with over there.

My football team in Sweden plays in the second division and has about 10-15k supporters for every home game. If people were told to sit down during the games, no one would even bother to go. The football is dreadful and the board is a fucking joke, but that doesn't really matter as long as you can have a good time singing and jumping around.

Actually, the joke of a board did even make an April fools about this matter.
They put up a set of rules on the website that you could not drink beer, stand up or sing loudly at the new arena. Even those miserable, disastrously-unknowing-of-how-to-manage-a-football-club cunts know that that's pretty much all there is to it.

Both Tottenham and Hammarby (my local team), are working class teams that have played most of their years in top tier, managed to win the league once in about a hundred years and have had their fair share of misfortunes.
I'm not comparing the clubs, but I would not want to see my local team become any better footballing-wise if that meant they would lose the right to stand or something else in the supporter culture.

I will probably never even go to a league game at WHL, I'm a tourist and I don't know half the songs, I couldn't bear being part of what makes a place like Emirates be so shit. I'll maybe show up for a lesser cup game sometime in the future. Would love it if you guys could get something going on though.

Oh and btw, here's a clip of my Hammarby having some fun.
19:00 there's some good singing and then at about 34 minutes there's a little bit of burning of pyro, 39:00 some more burning and singing and then at 41 a goal reaction.

It was really enjoyable when we were shit. Or more shit.

Now, the place seems to be full to bursting of Johnny-Come-Lately type arseholes.

One thing I will say that boils my piss is the whole 'Blind Loyalty' thing that appears to have really come to the fore recently. People who will abuse anyone who dares to object to something the club are doing or dares to have a less than perfect opinion of a player/manager/coach.

Well I will put this on the table right now - Spurs have never pissed me off more than they do now.

Why? Any number of things - StubHub, Another fucking garish Red Sponsor, Ticket Pricing and stupid categories (Norwich CAT B, fuck off), and general lack of giving a fuck about the fans unless it's creaming them for more hard earned cash.

God, I love Spurs, and hurt for days and sometimes longer when we lose, but as a 'business' they are basically cunts.

Bubble has been burst for me over the last years. I see what everyone else has seen in us for years these days.
I used to think that it was an internet thing...but they are in the pubs, and at the games too. Cunts. Absolute cunts everywhere.

Fickle, deluded mongs.

There are exceptions to the rule, but.....just soooooooo many cunts.

Shocking.

@ scotspurgav scotspurgav that's what it's about, for me - the actions of the people running the club(s).

I don't agree with the idea Spurs fans are worse than others. Top level football in England has been commercialised to hell and the crowds are different because large groups of lads in their teens/early twenties can't afford tickets. Some of you seem to think Spurs fans are worse than the scum. I don't get it. At least a Spurs fan who talks bollocks still supports the right team.

The crowd at the Lane is shite now, I agree with that 100%. But saying "Spurs fans are cunts" is misdiagnosing the problem. I don't see a way back for English football now. The clubs won't stop ripping people off every step of the way. The fans who make the most noise are largely young men who have been gentrified out of clubs like ours. Unless the club brings that demographic back, there will never be a decent atmosphere.

Spending a lot of money on a ticket to stand in Park Lane and be one of maybe three people making any noise leaves a sour taste tbh. I don't really want a day out in a family stand.

Just stick to grotty European away days (Which I do) and you will avoid them.
If you insist on going to home games then try LT's which is basically a geezer tavern. To use the toilet you basically have to run through a cloud of cocaine. Love it.

Anyway, its been noted for years that our fans have been steadily turning more and more melty. Comes with the price of CL and being a tad more glamourous.

Kids these days!

Old school bellends. Just pissed up dicks that think they know everything about football and slag off players.
Could do without them

Good and bad in all walks of life, but I do think that people now are more self centred and want immediate results in everything. I just try not to let it drag me down. Having said that, there are times that I wished I supported a 'little' local team, like Hornchurch, as you can actually feel part of the club. But once you're hooked on Spurs, you're done for life!

I don't give a fuck about how old people are, just fucking sing. Too much pigeon holing. We see all ages at 1882 events, we seem to seek to seperate our fans whereas I think we should just all hold hands and sing. If people don't want to sing, fair enough, it's only an issue for me when they cunt off those who wish to sing.

As I said earlier in the thread, because a loud minority are cunts, don't mean they represent the majority.

I thought the atmosphere was good today. The stewards were being cunty about standing most of the match (I know it's their job..) guess it's the start of the season thing.

There was a guy near me who was convinced that Soldado was bought from Sevilla, and that it was Negredo that was from Valencia. At one point he was arguing with about 3 people :paulinhofacepalm:

Every club has it's idiots.

We definitely have some deluded fans, but Liverpool are easily the worst.

Scum fans are just fucking arrogant, ditto Chelsea but at least Scum aren't racist bigots.

Not a bad atmosphere, but I don't know if its the acoustics of the ground, but the away support, even if there's only 20 of them, always seem to be loud. I'm in the Lower Paxton, and it is usually quieter than the Park Lane. I love to sing and I always sing along when the PL do... find that sometimes its only me and the kid in front, but we don't care!!! Bit chicken and egg situation .... we sing louder when something exciting happens on the pitch; maybe if we sang louder, it would kick start some exciting action. I still get goosebumps when we get a proper chorus of "O when the Spurs..." going.

Just as an aside you can buy Ledley's book off the Spurs site for 19 quid plus whatever they charge for delivery. I've just bought it online for 12 quid including postage. Another example of the club screwing the fans.

Same with the new shirts - 48 quid from Spurs, 42 quid elsewhere.

i dont really get the 'johnnie come lately' reasoning behind lack of vocal support in the ground. Most of the people sat round me in the park lane lower have been there for years and are some of the worst moaners and quietest singers (unless we're winning). it's often the younger people that i only occasionally see there that try to get something going, and are plainly ignored.

Having a big group of mostly younger, livelier fans sat all in the same place would improve the atmosphere no end.

Funnily enough, I'm not particularly in either group being neither 'a young Johnny-come-lately' or a silent moaner...
Trust me, there are still some 'older' bods about who like to get an atmosphere going....

Mind you, I'm probably not THAT far off becoming one of those elderly eccentrics, covered in badges that gets an uncomfortable, sarcastic reaction when trying desperately to start a song through my missing teeth and unstable mind!
