Unfortunately I think the most likely scenario is he is just going to play one more season and leave on a free, which is the worst of all possible outcomes.

Toby ,on the other hand, just quietly gets on with the job and I'd love to see him stay.
The aspect people don't see here is that it is a big risk to Toby and his agent if they let the contract run down.
Imagine if he picked up an injury this season. He could be left without a club and with no income.
It's a legitimate risk, but the payoff could be nice. His injury record is good.

Why should Poch play him and stifle the development of Dav and Foyth?
Toby staying for a year and leaving on a free is stupidity on all sides.
Because we are still a much better side with him in it and Poch wants to achieve big things next season, Davinson will get his game time though and needs to be completely ready for the 2020/2021 season.
Dav and Jan have already proven to be a very successful pairing. Foyth is showing signs of maturing into an extremely capable defender. If Toby has no future beyond this season Poch will create problems for himself if he plays him.
Disagree. He's still a very good defender and if we can get one more year out of him, I'd be all for it.
