Fresh talks to avoid the tube strike today. Fingers crossed - I have the feeling if they go ahead then WHL will be half empty, especially as it's on TV. I just hate the idea of that this season.

Didn't Sadiq khan say under him there would be no tube/ bus strikes?

It would mix it up a bit!
It would. You certainly wont see teams fielding weak sides, chairman wont allow it if that was on offer. Stadiums will be packed for every round, and it would give a great chance for a lower pl team for example west brom or palace to have a taste of it, plus the financial benefits, being able to attract a player etc.
Its a win win for everybody. One argument that migjt come up is, that particular team might be out of their depth in the cl and be an embarassment. But if we are being honest, we didnt exactly cover our selves in glory did we ?...and liverpool were even worse last season.....while leicester have done just fine.

What would be great is to never hear "top fucking four" again

There will be a minimum 7 Premier League clubs not in the next round.

I think Pochettino is slowly and surely building a nucleus and possibly a foundation for success but we need a trophy.

More than the energy sapping and largely pointless Europa, both the domestic cups represent to me a chance for success outside of the Premier League.

I hope Pochettino shows the competition which used to define our great club the respect many of the fans crave.

That is a 'Glass Half Full' way of looking at it... as there will be at least a dozen who are!

And of the clubs knocked out today, only Everton would've seriously harboured ambitions of winning the thing...

I don't think the likes of Swansea, West Ham, Stoke or West Brom give much of a shit about the FA Cup...
The fact Man City, Man Utd and probably ArseAnal & Chelsea will be in the next round, means we still have plenty to overcome if we are to think seriously about winning The Cup this season...

But first, let's get past Villa eh?

Of course but mine is a post of perspective.

We need a trophy and this is easily the shortest route, aside the spectre of replays.

Apart from the rather pointless Champions League qualification for winning the competition.

We'd hear top 3 instead?

[formation=4231, Vorm, Trippier, CCV, Wimmer, Davies, Winks, Dier, Sissoko, Son, Nkoudou, Janssen][/formation]

Keep Kane, Alli and Eriksen as 3 out of the possible 7 subs just in case. If we are winning comfortably then bring on Onomah and whoever else doesn't normally get a game.

Really only the champions should go into the CL and then we can change it name back to the iconic , European Cup rather than a league.

The premier league has the agreement for Champions league places and the FACup is an FA competition. That is why they will not get a CL place although Europa places are available as this competition used to be for Cup winners.

We are going to this and the 2 boys have been invited to be flag bearers which is very exciting for them. Look out for them on pitch, it's the 2 in my profile photo, my son and his mate.

Am a little worried about travelling back after the match with the proposed strikes, have just looked up buses information but I am hoping that they will push the strike time out a little so we can get back, fingers crossed!
