Couple of rumours I have seen elsewhere saying Fekir likely to sign contract today as Real Betis going on s preseason tour tomorrow and expect Fekir on it

Guess we'll find that Twitter feed has the travelling squad tomorrow which would confirm his signing if the rumour is true.

He is in Seville today and I don't think he has gone there on holiday

Contracts will be signed and he will very shortly be a Betis player

So, I get the impression that Eriksen genuinely wants to leave, whereas Alderweireld's concern is cashing in on that last big contract of his career, and he's happy to stay at Tottenham if we're the highest bidder.

Holding onto Toby next year in the confidence that we have the right of first refusal on any offers he may get isn't a great situation given that we could have sold him for 70m to United last year, but it's not the disaster Eriksen would be.

Taken from there, this summer is starting to shape up pretty sensibly from the rumors we're hearing.

Eriksen to Real Madrid
Rose to PSG/Juve
Janssen to Monterrey
Nkoudou and Onomah to Fulham

Lo Celso in
Sessegnon twins in
Llorente re-signed to lower wages
Foyth to RB
KWP and CCV with enhanced opportunities

Maybe only a 60m or so net spend all-in? That's adding some star power, getting us younger, clearing the bullshit off the books and resolving much of the contract drama in a pretty impressive fashion.

I can't imagine we're ending up with Lo Celso AND Eriksen, but I guess we'll see. I'd rather have Eriksen on a new contract than Lo Celso, but that doesn't sound like it's on the cards.

Not sure where you get your impressions from, but a few things you may want to think about :

Eriksen only wants to leave for Real Madrid. That seems increasingly unlikely with rumours he's likely to sign a new contract

Alderweireld might have wanted to go to ManU last season for £70m but they are rumoured to have thought him too old at that price and wages demands

Atm looking likely we will have both Eriksen and Lo Celso next season - rumours of Ceballos seem to have died away as he was always part of an Eriksen deal to Madrid that has failed to matrialise.

Atm Rose is 50/50 to stay.

Probably Wanyama is close to leaving

Maybe one or two ( not likely first teamers) still to come ?

Net spend £100m +.........with the same benefits you identified

I hear pretty much the opposite is true, in that Poch wants Aldweireld gone - so Alderweireld is posturing for position........he very much wants Eriksen to stay, and therefore he doesn't need to talk in the press.

Taking Toby on the tour and giving him the captain's armband for the game with a week to go for his come-and-get-me clause is a weird way of wanting him gone, especially given the Danny Rose situation.

But hell I dunno, maybe you're right.

It would be very very nice to resolve the Toby and Eriksen situations one way or another before the window closes. There are a ton of the club's financial resources tied up in those two, and the last thing we want is paper bullshit the whole season about whether and where those two will sign.

At the moment we’re on £44m net spend. Add Lo Celso and Sessegnon then you’re looking about £110-£120m.

Janssen is on his way out, Fulham interested in Onomah and GKN, Wanyama linked to going and could see Rose leave. If that all comes off I reckon we’ll be around £70-80m net spend.

Shit, if Eriksen re-signs and we net spend nine figures I will be over the moon.

I just find that an unlikely scenario, and one that would make last year's parsimony a little confusing.

All to be revealed.

I predicted at the start of TW a net spend of £100m, based on Spurs financials (see seperate thread) for last year showing profit after tax of £100m+ and my back of envelope forecast we will show something similar for year to June 2019 after CL run)

So no major surprise, at least to me and a few others who went through that hread

Last summer more confusing with stadium a bit up in air but we tried to get in de Jong ( as stated by him) but he chose Barcelona and also tried to get Grealish but the Villa change in ownership stopped that I think. Eventually we had decided on no squad fillers so once our first choice went there was no plan B. This year looks like e got plan A done.

Think Wanyama more likely to leave than Rose but likely we will see one or two other joiners ( not mega bucks) once Lo Celso and Sessegnon are done.

Just not sure what positions will be filled as it's as much availability of players Poch think will improve us as anything else.

Agree with the figures though - will blow some people's minds after last 10 years net spend which cumulatively is less than that !

Take it easy, it’s only been a pre-season friendly...
To be honest, I'm basing it as much on Wanyama's crocked knee as Skippy seemingly coming into his own.

Well his time is up because N'dombele, Sissoko, Winks, Dier and probably Lo Celso very soon are all ahead of him in the pecking order. A class servant was Big Vic.

Also this. I think we're moving towards a new system with no devoted CDMs, but rather a flatter back four that needs less protection and more dynamic CMs in the De Jong mould.

AKA: our CL run earnings.

That wouldn't even touch the PL television money from last season. Very shrewd if we pull it all off.

Why should Bale go to China? Moving his young family halfway across the world to play in a tinpot league in a cloud of smog for a slightly higher wage. If Madrid can't work something out with Levy (highly likely), he should just kick back and collect his wages at Madrid, the guy has won pretty much everything there is to win. Bale to China makes 0 sense seeing as he has 3 years left on his contract, he doesn't have to leave.
'Slightly higher wages'

From £350,000 per week after tax to £1,000,000 per week after tax

Exciting stuff

That diamond worked really well yesterday, if we have really energetic fast full backs we might be able to pull it off. It would explain why we have so many midfielders

My only concern is left back. I'd love rose to stay because I'm not convinced Davies is energetic enough to be first choice and sessengon isn't ready.

Notice out midfield is full of players who are great at keeping the ball. Were going to be as press proof as you get and if we push up as high as we did yesterday kane and son will get a lot of chances.

Seems like we're having a garage sale at 5M a pop. I'd take that for:

Janssen, GKN, Onomah, CCV and Wanyama

We can add some clauses to the younger players to hopefully get extra cash down the line but 25m for players with no long term future here is good business plus getting them off the wage bill.

2018: Lucas for £22m and some loans and sales for about £7m. Net £15 m
2019:
Etete0.5Dembele11
Clarke8.5Trippier22
Ndombele54
GuessesGuesses
Lo Celso55Toby20
Sessegnon25Rose20
Aurier10
Janssen5
Nkoudou5
Onomah3
Edwards1
14397

So a net spend over 2 years of about £60m.
