Reminds me of the Trippier is better than Walker argument being put forward on here 2 years ago.
Rose pushes for a place in any top 6 PL side. Davies most certainly doesn't.
I think the difference in quality between Davies and Rose compared to Walker and Trippier is much smaller. Honestly, while Rose finished off the season on as strong note, he was pretty poor otherwise. Rose from a few seasons ago would have been a massive loss, but he hasn't been significantly better than Davies for a while now imo

Report: Tottenham reject chance to sign top midfield target – but why?
Spurs Web – Tottenham Hotspur Football News / Seb Jenkins / moments ago

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly rejected the chance to sign one of their top midfield targets this summer, Dani Ceballos.
The central attacking midfielder starred for Spain at the U21 European Championships, with his team eventually lifting the trophy itself.
Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Spurs were in talks with Real Madrid over a possible signing of the 22-year-old playmaker.
In fact, at one stage, Estadio Deportivo reported that Spurs were in advanced negotiations and were close to signing the player.
However, Le Confidencial now claim that the player is close to a move to Woolwich instead after Tottenham rejected the chance to land him.
The report cites the reasons behind this decision as Real Madrid’s refusal to let Ceballos leave on a permanent deal or include an option to buy in the loan contract.
As a result, a one-year loan deal to Woolwich before returning to Madrid seems like the most likely option at this stage, with Spurs having to look elsewhere.

This surely b.s.
Hilarious if true! Woolwich are so desperate to take him on loan with no buy option and develop him for RM while we said hell no!

All of this is true but my God it's not exactly appealing, phew our slightly better full-back is off leaving us with our slightly worse one.

We need to make a signing in this area and soon.

Makes perfect sense to me

Just to add to the debate on right backs, Kyle Walker-Peters is likely to start the first 2 PL matches at RB.

The reason :
- Juan Foyth picked up a red card at the end of last season and will be suspended for he first 2 games
- Serge Aurier played in African Cup of Nations so will get back off his 3 week break at about start of PL season in order to start his preseason.

Knew you would be pleased to have a team update for our first PL match so early. And your welcome !

oh and Son is similar position to Foyth with a 2 game suspension to serve.
The bearer of good news

With Trippier left, Davies has now become the most pointless player in the current first team. Everything about his game is either average or mediocre.

With Davies as our starting left back we had our best defensive season in the history of the league.
That has fuckall to do with Ben fucking Davies. We had peak Dembele and wanyama in midfield that season.

here's a couple more line ups, not adding any more signings, you know the names

A couple of replacements might be needed for Janssen and N'Koudou, then again who knows (apart from lion of course)

Also, whilst Ben was good, he only started in Feb after that Sunderland match when the dogs took out rose
