No real surprise at the names, although its always a shame for the individuals who I hope will go on to find good clubs and have a decent career.

A number of the above have looked 'stale' after playing u21 football for too long - Spurs need to do much better at organising more decent loans for the 19-21 year olds which is a better development tool.

No surprise at that sort of number leaving given we are likely to see out of this years Academy Year 2 group probably 9 or 10 promoted to development squad (Gunter, McKnight, Lintom, Andiyapan, Dorrinhgton, Abbott, Kyerematen, Donley, Lankshear and maybe Williams). to add to the 7 or 8 not released in this season's development squad plus in last couple of years we have recruited a couple of players from other sides. So we may well have 20-25 players in the development squad next season even with up to 10 leaving

Can't really argue with that list, a couple quite unlucky with injuries but they needed to be moved on.
Hopefully do well wherever they end up :adesalute:

As expected both Devine and Scarlett start.

About another 5 players have joined up with u20 squad since the group stages, following various matches with their clubs (eg play offs).

England lose 2-1, and out of tournament.

Italy had more possession throughout - maybe late arrivals of 4 or 5 of team counted against them as most of starts had played all/most group games which were twice a week. Shocking pitch too

First defeat for this group of England players in 20 matches - great record. They won u19 euros last year.

Wasn't a great performance tonight, Argentina should be ashamed of the state of the pitch and again ref looks at one penalty incident but not the other.

After being released by Spurs last summer (2022) Isak Midttun Solberg joined Norwegian 2nd division club Kongsvinger. He only made it to the bench of the 1st team and was recently released.
He is still young (20) but should be doing better by now. Doesn't look as if Spurs did the wrong thing by letting him go.

9.9 times out of 10 that will be the case.

Now that the season and all domestic cup competitions have concluded, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as our new First Team Head Coach. Becoming the first Australian to manage in the Premier League, Ange will join us on 1 July on a four-year contract.

Daniel Levy, Chairman: “Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy - everything that is important to our Club. We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead."

Lets hope he does - and reverses almost a decade of poor player development from ages 18-21

Yup. This makes it a shame we're not even the Europa Conference thingie, since it would have provided more potential minutes for youngsters.

Interesting that Alfie Devine, Dane Scarlett & Yago Santiago are BASE clients, like Ange.
