Pro and anti comments re why he might go to Leicester
The guy who wrote that article seems to have looked at a few stats and not bothered his arse to watch him. But that is OK. I hope they buy him. And many more donkeys like him. Because those bastards have been getting far too much bang for their buck. Poor in the air, shite on the ball, slow, turning circle of a jumbo jet, poor concentration/anticipation. Top, top player.

Subs: Gazzaniga, Vertonghen, Foyth, Dier, Gedson, Lamela, Sessegnon

Lloris
Tanganga - Sanchez - Alderweireld
Aurier - Ndombele - Dier - Lo Celso - Sessegnon
Dele
Son
I can 100% see this.

Brings Tanganga and Sanchez back in but keeps experienced Alderweireld with them. Aurier and Sessegnon on either side due to Davies not being fit and Rose being shit.

Ndombele back in with Dier screening behind him and Lo Celso. After Jose's comments about Lucas and Lamela being fatigued, both rested and we push Dele further up to play just off of Son.

Scrappy 1-2 win. Through to the next round. Bring it on.
I'd like to see this team. I mean Dier is playing up to his name lately but we've got no one else for that position. This game is going to be really tough, a real slog. I'll take winning 2-1 playing turgid football all day long at this point...

Has everyone forgotten about Skipp?

Surely this is an ideal opportunity to give him a run out?

Totally agree, think it would be a great opportunity. Can't be worse than any of the other options, and the potential upside is huge, but I just can't see it happening.

Think that's why everyone has left him out of their expected line-up.

Would like to see..

Central defender Jan Bednarek and full-back Yan Valery were missing for the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Tuesday, which Southampton won 2-0 thanks to goals from Nathan Redmond and Stuart Armstrong.

But Saints were dealt another injury blow during the game, with Portuguese full-back Cedric Soares forced off with a knee injury in the first half of the game in south London.

"Cedric [Soares] is out for maybe three weeks with a ligament iinjury in the knee," Hasenhuttl said, speaking at his pre-match press conference.

"Jannik [Vestergaard] is also out with concussion, and [Shane] Long is also not available because of a small knee problem. So that’s three changes from the starting XI."

Top scorer Danny Ings, who scored the winning goal when the two sides met at St Mary's in the Premier League on New Year's Day, could return to the starting XI though, having been rested on Tuesday before coming off the bench against Palace.

Hasenhuttl has vowed to play his strongest possible XI as the Saints look to progress to the fifth round.

In the previous round he gave Alderweireld a rest and he could well do that for the other older centre-back, Jan Vertonghen, allowing Davinson Sanchez to get some game time.

For an away game, Mourinho could well bring Japhet Tanganga back in at left-back to bring more solidity to the backline and allow him to play the three at the back in possession that he prefers.

Tanguy Ndombele did not appear against Norwich but could start against the Saints following more fitness work, while Gedson Fernandes could be handed his full debut if the head coach deems he's ready.

Hugo Lloris needs to continue to get match sharpness after three months out and the Frenchman could well start again in the cup competition to add some leadership to the side.

Alasdair Gold's team (4-3-3): Lloris; Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Tanganga; Gedson, Ndombele, Lo Celso; Son, Lucas, Alli.

Rob Guest's team (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Tanganga; Lo Celso, Ndombele; Lamela, Alli, Son; Lucas.

Robert Warlow's team (4-3-3): Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Ndombele, Gedson, Lo Celso; Alli, Son; Lucas.

JM is going to put out a team to win, no more weak line ups in these cups anymore.
