Totally ashamed to hear of these reports.
I'm hopeful there was a miss understanding of sorts - but I do fear the worst is true.

We were playing terrible and losing at home to one of our main rivals. It was fucking infuriating and believe this would by why some morons think any behaviour is acceptable at that point.

The objects being thrown at players is a poor show - you have to hit them.

But the reports of racism are truly upsetting. I don't think of my club as being like in any way, shape or form.

Very hard to legislate for one or two morons in a crowd of 62k.

If proven, the cunt should be gone from our club for good.

What is tragic about all of this is that Son was racially abused by a Chelsea fan. It doesn't matter though because he is Korean (sarcasm). Is there a premier league footballer who suffers more racist abuse than Son?

Lurker here, poster elsewhere.
Surprised this hasn't already been posted here.

To all concerned,

There is a photograph taken at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday of Antonio Rudiger, Harry Kane and the referee, Anthony Taylor, in discussion after the sending off of Heung Min Son. It appeared on both the Telegraph and Guardian website front pages. I post the link here:

In the stands, immediately behind Harry Kane's head, you can see a tall, rather angry looking, middle aged man pointing his finger in Antonio Rudiger's direction. That man is me. I begin with this revelation, for want of a better word, because I wish to establish that there can hardly have been more than half a dozen fans in the stadium who were closer to where Sunday's big talking point unfolded than me. I was probably less than twenty yards away.

And I am as convinced as it is possible to be that there was no racism directed at Antonio Rudiger. I could not be more certain that this unprecedented media storm is, in fact, the consequence of a huge misunderstanding on Antonio Rudiger's part. To be clear, please do not mistake my stance for that of someone who lightly dismisses or excuses racism; or for that of a fan incapable of objectivity and in denial about the possibility that racists exist within all clubs' fan bases. For me, the fight to eradicate racism in football far exceeds in importance and worthiness the desire to defend my club's reputation. I know that there are racists among all fan bases - Spurs included. And should I ever witness racism from Spurs fans, I would want the full force of the law to bear down on them.

So, to the events of Sunday afternoon and why I so wholeheartedly believe what I believe. By way of background, for what it's worth, I have no real argument with Son's sending off. He did make a slight, if aborted, move of his feet towards Rudiger as he tumbled. And such an action is likely to result in a red card. Nevertheless, that can't excuse Antonio Rudiger's reaction. Jose Mourinho said it best when he sarcastically wished the Chelsea defender a speedy recovery from the multiple broken ribs that he must have suffered. There is nothing more cowardly within football than feigning injury in order to get an opposition player sent off.

As English football fans are wont to do in such circumstances, thousands of us in the south stand chanted "cheat, cheat, cheat, cheat..." at Antonio Rudiger. It was at that specific moment that he turned and gestured angrily at us before going to his captain / the referee to complain about having been the target of monkey noises. When English is not your first language and when you are unfamiliar with English fan culture, 5000 or so English fans chanting "cheat, cheat, cheat...." at a fast tempo and unsynchronised could, I suspect, sound very much like monkey noises. The timing of Antonio Rudiger's angry gesture towards the fans and immediate subsequent discussions with his captain and the referee confirms that suspicion. The only alternative is that Antonio Rudiger is claiming that he heard a lone voice making monkey noises. And if that is the case, then I say that Antonio Rudiger is a liar. There is not the remotest chance that he could have isolated that lone voice above the nigh on identical sound of 5000 fans repeatedly shouting "cheat".

Of course, it is possible that, in a quieter moment, Antonio Rudiger heard this lone, racist voice. But no one else did. Nor could Spurs' and the police's forensic CCTV study of every fan in the crowd identify a guilty party. Besides, I am quite confident that the person to whom this lone voice belonged would have been quickly shopped - or at least shopped by now - if he existed. Spurs fans do not tolerate racism. So I can only conclude that this person does not exist. And since I have no reason to believe that Antonio Rudiger would lie about such a serious matter, the only remaining, plausible explanation that fits the facts is that he mistook chants of "cheat" for monkey noises. That's why he gestured angrily at fans in the south stand. He couldn't have been reacting to anything else.

In the meanwhile, the name and reputation of Spurs fans has been dragged through the mud. There has been an unprecedented level of coverage and outcry concerning Sunday's events - wholly out of proportion with any previous instance of alleged racism. It is more than a little ironic given that, more than any club's fans, Spurs fans have repeatedly been on the receiving end of genuine, vile racist abuse that has repeatedly received little to no media coverage.

So I believe that, given the evidence that I have supplied above and given the complete absence of any evidence pointing to anyone having directed monkey noises at Antonio Rudiger, Spurs and Spurs fans are owed an apology that is every bit as widely disseminated, loudly proclaimed and sincerely meant as the accusations and opprobrium that has rained down on us for the past few days. Antonio Rudiger should be presented with the facts as I saw them and asked if he hasn't, in fact, made an innocent mistake - albeit one that has had huge consequences. There can be no blame directed at him for such an innocent mistake so he should not feel afraid to admit it. Far better that than to stubbornly stick to his story without knowing, beyond doubt, that he genuinely heard what he thought he heard.

I could not be more aware that the fight to eradicate racism within football is of paramount importance. And I fully acknowledge that those charged with the running of clubs and the game more generally have a great responsibility to support players who are subject to racism. Rightly so. But I therefore suspect that, if no evidence of racism is found in this instance, the matter will be allowed to fade from public attention without further comment being made. And the stain of racist abuse will linger and taint the reputation of Spurs and Spurs fans henceforward. And that is not fair. And it does a disservice to the genuine fight against racism. I cannot and will not allow this to happen. I hope to see positive action from each of you to whom I have sent this email. If you wish to contact me for further discussion, please do so. If you wish to publish or use what I have written for further discussion elsewhere, you have my permission - so long as you do not edit it to alter its meaning in any way, however subtle. If nothing is done and if no evidence of racist behaviour is found and presented to the media, then I will have to consider what further action I (with the help of other Spurs fans) might have to take to make right the wrong that I believe has been done to Spurs fans.

Thank you all for taking the time to read the above. I hope that it has been of some help. I look forward to your responses and to whatever subsequent action you are able to take.

Happy Christmas!

Yours sincerely

Cunts like Oliver Holt are as bad as those that are racist. He and many others (inc so called Spurs fans) are desperate to create a shit storm that doesn’t even exist.
This creates a problem that isn’t even there and in turn makes the bigger picture more of an issue than it really is.

I literally cannot believe the desperation of people in this thread to try and prove there was racism without any evidence what so ever.. They are not remotely interested in the fact that so many have spoken out and said they heard or saw absolutely nothing, or the fact that microphones and cameras picked up nothing but cling on to the word of one attention seeking fantasist on Twatter.
Let’s concentrate on the actual incidents of racism and deal with them accordingly instead of trying to make up cases that aren’t there.

Rudiger knew exactly what he was doing ( there I’ve said it) he was getting booed because he is a pathetic cheating cunt and decided to make it out as if it was monkey chants..that is as bad as any form of racism and says a lot about the individual.
Next time we play Chelsea I will boo that cheating cunt every time he goes near the ball, that’s what happens to dirty cheating wankers, i don’t care if they are black, white, orange or purple, everyone should be treated the same and if they cheat they get booed simple as that, I refuse to live in a society where you can boo white folk but not black because it’s deemed racist.. It’s not racist it’s people spouting bollocks and creating problems that don’t need creating.
A cheat is a cheat end of story.

Has anyone considered how many black people were in the area in question? Did any of them step forward and say they were offended by the chants? I suppose they were covering it all up as well?
I am amazed that so many know Rudiger personally, “ he would never make it up” how the fuck do you know? Wake up and accept that it is possible he made it up, it’s also possible he misheard but it is a tad suspicious that only he and one other think that way. Guess what, black people can lie just like white people can lie, why think otherwise?

Nothing happened, any one desperate for there to be a story need to open their eyes, accept that there is no evidence and move on.. it is quite frankly embarrassing.

The problem with not fighting unproven allegations is show right here - too little too late

After being contacted, the BBC admitted it “did not make sufficiently clear” that no evidence of racism was found – and said it will edit the film, which is still available to view on its iPlayer, to reflect this.

The BBC programme based around Holocaust Remembrance day basically uses Spurs fans as an example of where racism is still to found today, the fact that the accusation had nothing to do with Jews or the Holocaust but relates to un-founded accusations of monkey chants against a black payer didn't bother the BBC - Spurs are a Jewish club so let's use their fans to make our point.

The BBC are blatantly using racial stereotyping and a racist agenda ... but the woke crowd won't care, white people can't get offended we should all learn to accept that fact.

All those who said, don't fight back, well this is where you end up ... mud sticks you have too fight and wash it off.

As a black man, I find it disgusting when someone falsifies a hate crime. People who do this are doing a massive disservice to those who really were racially abused, and continue to be. They fan the flames and make things worse when they should be honest about this. You shouldn't have to lie and deceive the public to get your point across. This incident doesn't feel right in the slightest. Just my two cents.

"For me, it was not a surprise, because they always get away with it. Not always, sometimes they get punished but mostly they get away with it.

"I’m not trying to offend but you people [white journalists] will never understand what goes through my mind in this moment. Or other black players’ minds. I am alone. I am totally alone. It’s nice if people are speaking up for me but at the end of the day it just replays. Authority wise I’m alone.

"The support from my club was there. Also players and everything. For me this was not enough. These people need to be punished. They need educating. It’s lack of education, simple.

He then inferred that Chelsea fans were saints for reporting abuse and Spurs fans all took part in some mass cover-up:

"We all, even including you [the media], we all failed in this. Because if people are really honest we have so many people coming into the stadium and in that game when it happened against me, Chelsea fans got arrested and why? Because Chelsea fans reported the other Chelsea fans who abused Son [Heung-Min]. So on the other side, nothing happened. It’s the people who were around. And that’s why I say if we don’t stand up racism won"

Guy's an utter scumbag, he plays the race card at the drop of the hat - booed by Spurs fans because we're all racist? what about when we boo non-black players? maybe he was booed him for diving and getting Son sent off?... he even throws in the term "you people" does he not see how that makes him the racist?

Anyone still giving this piece of shit even an ounce of support needs their head examined ... don't forget this self proclaimed race hater takes the shilling from the most racist club in the EPL - what an utter CUNT

So a whole new day and still not one shred of evidence supporting the claim.
In all other cases, evidence is produced within minutes.

And IF no evidence is found will the social media judge & jury make an apology? No. Will 'experts' like Lineker and Neville apologise? No.

I detest racists as much as anyone on here but this modern phenonomen to be the first to find people guilty of something without any proof whatsoever is worrying.

Jesus H Christ - it’s almost as if some our fans on here WANT us to be proven guilty so they can validate their PC agenda. FML

The BBC piece was pretty outrageous - they near on allowed themselves to be used by Chelsea as PR to prove they aren't racist and we are........all the time David Baddiel was sat there smugly
