Yes, Don McAllister. Remember him scoring a couple of wonderful diving headers in his time with us (don’t see much of that these days). Maybe his neck had something to do with that.
He died in 2014 - only 59 years old.

Always thought Don McAllister (actually, 'Dan' on my '1980 Stars Football Card') looked like a Hollywood actor... Probably the highlights and gold chain he wore in one picture I had of him!!
...oh, and I remember Gordon Smith, only 'cos he was the one that looked a bit like Mickey Dolenz from 'The Monkees' and not the Gordon Smith who missed that sitter for Brighton in the 1983 Cup Final!!
