Wtf is that

The standard has changed. We no longer look like a side capable of competing with the top

By what measure?

Your sad pathetic sunglasses of misery?
It was just pointed out that we are closer to the top than we were a year ago. If you missed it, no it is not comparsion to ourselves. It is comparsion with the top of the table.

God how f***ng gloomy some ppl can be.
We just got 6th win out of last 7 EPL games. Losing the only one to regaining champion who bashed today last year 2nd place team 3:1 with minimal resistance. And you make it look like we are in some kind of s**t?
We gained 2 points on our lousy neigbours of Scum and Chavski. Increased lead by 3 points in front of the richest club in the world. Next round we will go head to head with Chelsea and if we win, we will overtake them.

I mean some ppl here say that the media is biased (how much have we read that EPL will be 2 horse race between City and Pool) and now there will be our own fan saying smth worse. How sad is that?

I understand that you are referring to our transfer window. That we did not get a single new player.
Well, at the same time we have players like
- Moura who has played more than 1000 minutes (total 200 in last season; 0 up to 12th round)
- Lamela who has played 430 minutes (total 830 in last season; 0 up to 12th round)
- Foyth who has played 180 minutes (total 0 last season)
And have done really well. This is all we know. Maybe the new additions would have taken their chance to play and shine while flopping themselves?!? We cannot know that for sure. But despite that you act like you know every possible outcome like it would be dead certain.

Screw you, show some appreciation to the hard work that everyone around the club are doing instead of this whimping.

We could quite easily break our record points tally and only find that it's enough for 4th place. Crazy how good of a start we've made yet could be 5 points off top.

Doesn't really matter though, because we have chosen not to keep up with the pace of improvement elsewhere. We might have a strong start relative to ourselves, but we're looking like Europa League fodder. Our choice though.
At least we can say we won the Tottenham Hotspur Half Decade Cup

This team doesn’t deserve your support.

The truth to too much even for a man like you, Joe.
If more supporters engaged in my brand of realism, the club would know they couldn't take the piss the way they have.

Look how far our expectations have slipped since we fucked Real Madrid a lite over a year ago. Now we're celebrating a brief moment in fourth place.

Truth? A few days after we fucked Real Madrid we played our 12th league game (2-0 loss to woolwich) and were in 4th place with 23 points (11 points off top). You’ve probably noticed that we’re currently in 4th place with 27 points (2 points off top). I know you’re a gloomy bastard, but that isn’t slipping.

We’re doing amazing despite some early turigid performances (even though we got the wins).
All this without signings and practically 80% of the squad being injured at some point.
Add this to the CL campaign and we have all the proof that Poch is always evolving.

We have a fantastic squad, and new surprises keep popping up.....Sissokos form, Skipp, Davies can play CB....what’s next I’m wondering.

The really sad thing is that soon it’s January and all this gets thrown aside by people who will now start demanding marquee signings to continue our title push.
Yes, by the very same people who predicted 8th just 16 weeks ago.

The bar is always raised, and not enough credit given.

if i have time, i'm aiming to add pretty graphs to this thread after four premier league game intervals, charting our performances since pochettino arrived.

the graph show points accumulated (left) and the round of each game (bottom). each season has the reported spend on the right (14/15 +£10M).

figures taken from spurs' season pages via wikipidea

after the first four games of the season, we are having our best campaign since pochettino arrived at spurs, up by 1 point on his previous best of 8 points set in 16/17.

it's interesting to see his second season at the club, taking just 3 points from the first 4 games with no wins. if you can remember during that time, pockets of fan opinion was divided, some even asking for him to be replaced.

There are some right miserable cunts on here fuck knows what it would be like if we were ? mid table and losing ?

I think we've actually done a great job grinding out wins while navigating this horrific injury crisis.
The only trouble is, I could easily see the injury crisis getting worse. We might not be far off City or Liverpool, but likewise Chavs and Gooners aren't far off us either. We'll have to be careful to not take any league points for granted.

I am enjoying the ride with Poch and at least we know that this squad will never give up, unlike other greedy bastards who are just playing for themselves!
