Why the hell are people wanting Capello? Typical, negative, Italian football - it goes against everything this club stands for. Pochettino is also just an AVB mark II. Yes he's doing ok now but he plays exactly the same formation and high-line as AVB and I'm yet to see a plan B yet. Wait til things go wrong - will Pochettino have a backup? Also both of these guys have a poorer grasp of English than AVB did.

We want a flair manager who understands English football, understands the Premier League and most importantly understands Tottenham Hotspur. I understand the reservations about Hoddle but if ever somebody deserves a second chance (this time with a far superior squad of players and an older, wiser head on his shoulders) it's this man. One of the club's greatest servants.

I loved Gazza. I wouldn't want him to manage us either.

Hoddle failed spectacularly as he has done his entire career, and no decent club will touch him. Which is why no decent club has approached him for god knows who long.

I want Hoddle nowhere near our managment team, like I don't want Gazza there. They are welcome to entertain in the sponsors lounges along with other Spurs playing legends.

My opinion, for what its worth is that the sensible thing to do seems to be offer Hiddink a wedge of cash to manage this situation until the end of the season. The only one I can think of adept enough to step and manage any group of players put in front of him on a no-strings basis and, dare I say, even possibly bring a bit of success - all is not necessarily lost yet, we're 7 points off top place and in all the cups we started in, so CL and/or silverware is still very much in the offing if someone can get us playing. In the mean-time Levy and Baldini can work on bringing in the long term messiah, whomever that may be.

I'm not one for interim solutions, but I think that's the reality of the situation we're in right now.

Long term, I don't know. Capello could either be a master stroke or a disaster of apocalyptic magnitude. Hoddle, well, turning to your heroes in time of crisis often leads to disappointment. Bear in mind, whoever comes in has to accept the DoF hierarchy and make it work.

I like Laudrup's style of football, but still seems a risk, Klinsmann hasn't done it at this level, Don't know enough about Klopp to comment apart from I like his glasses. There's just no stand out safe bets.

in all honesty I've pretty much lost faith in Levys ability to recruit a manager anyway, and think he needs to take a look at himself in this respect. He cant seem to get it right and its pretty damming that the two most successful managers of his reign are the two that were put on him by circumstances rather than a conscious, long term choice. Hopefully Baldini can bring give him a few pointers.....

The same Crapello that's won at least one title at every club he's been at? Sure, he didn't do particularly well with a very average and overrated England side. Other than that...?

Never managed in the Premier League and renowned for negative tactics.

George Graham won league titles playing 1-0 football.

Hoddle is outstanding at nurturing young talent, the minute he meets any established player or star, there is an ego clash, like his keepy up contests humiliating beckham in 98, thats why he should be runnning Englands U21 or younger talent.

Yet i think we will prevail on Wednesday, hopefully the players will react in a positive manner to the situation we are in right now.

I think we will either be fresh and edge it on energy + pure fortune

Or we will get tanked by their superior pressing and absolutely dicked at every set piece.

Now excuse me since my brain may have melted from this whole situation.

For me, I would hire Hoddle. I don't see us making top 4 unless we got extremly lucky and pulled a rabbit out of our hat with a top manager. I certainly don't see us getting top four with Capello, Hiddink, or Laudrup (who was just booed off the pitch last week).

So might as well take the risk with Hoddle. I don't think he's a good manager or would succeed but if he did it would be the most incredible thing ever. The return of the prodigal son. If he doesn't succeed then we hire a new manager in the summer when it is much easier to find someone.

With Hoddle you know we would play all systems firing going forward football and with three cups still possible I think we'd have a shot to win a trophy and think how glorious it would be.

Overall, I don't think we can make top four so why not gamble on the most glorious situation. If by some miracle Hoddle did lead us to the promised land it would be the best. Certainly a more attractive prospect than Capello.

Fickleness on a whole new level...
How? If we lose that then the club will be in a horrible state. Players will be low on morale and out of it and the fans, as ever, will be moaning and disappointed. Whether we blame Levy/ENIC or anyone else, it would be down to him and the other two to sort it out now and that would be an incredibly dificult talk.

I think Timmy will be given a chance to make the job his own. Levy obviously loves him, as do the other coaches. He comes across as pretty bright, so let's fucking back him to the hilt. I know I will be, come Wednesday.

I don't personally think he'll hire him though even if we do beat West Ham in the cup and Southampton. Not that I know anything about the situation in the board but I'll guess the board will go for proven experience rather than take that risk - getting Champions League is too much of a financial boost to the club.
