Could be a nightmare to play against, especially if he comes on the last 20 mins or so against a full-back who started the game. This guy could be a big surprise.
Very pacy, very direct.
To use NFL language, you're not often gonna be crossing into a specific"wide open" player, you cross into an area, ideally with some pace and whip, and it's a question of the forwards anticipating and making the right movements. It's a percentage game, the defenders have to win out every time, the forwards only once or twice.
This is a good video of him from just the handful of games he played prior to his health issue last season:
You see a well balanced player, with good touch, decent pace, an ability to beat a man and get into a positions to cross from dangerous positions, something we lack perhaps, with Son being the best we currently have at doing that. If you cross from far out the percentages are with the defenders because they are better set and have more time to react. If you beat a man and move closer to the byline the odds move more to the attacker.
He also shows an ability to use his left foot, again important as it makes him less predictable, as the defenders have to cover both the shot and cross options. He also looks like he has the physicality to play in the PL.
He has been compared to Chris Waddle in this thread. He had an awful haircut as wellHis haircut. Not convinced.
Usually do well with signing players from Leeds.
:lennon:
I think he's Son-esque.He will prove to be an absolute bargain, signing of the summer, Dele-esque
For such a young player he plays in a very mature intelligent way. Seems to have that instinct of knowing when to pass and when to try a take on
Top notch mulletHe has been compared to Chris Waddle in this thread. He had an awful haircut as well
He's pretty comfortable with his left foot as well. Also very one footed but we've a decent history making quality out of players like this.
Top notch mullet
Well luckily Levy will keep the receipt!Bit of a one trick pony from the limited amount I've seen him. Also very one footed but we've a decent history making quality out of players like this. He'll need to be in the weight room and hopefully his trajectory will end up somewhere between Lennon and Bale. Tidy player though.
