Son will be fine, he just needs a little break. Maybe a weekend rest and the Intl break will be good for him. He will come back and score a brace in the NLD then kick on.

you got to give him the benefit also that the team has been playing like crap apart from 2 games. he looked good against fulham, a game in which the team played well as a whole.

If we dont play like shite Saturday, i expect him to look good again

If he still has his dad living with him he probably needs to kick him out for a while.

Can imagine him analysing his every move, kick, blink and breath. Not what you need when your form has gone out the window.

And not sure his comments to the media helped even if they were taken out of context.

Hope he plays himself out of this funk anyway. Been a great servant of the club.

Two world class players constantly performing subpar? Maybe the problem is elsewhere…
They are not world class players, they are good decent players. The 2 always go through bad patches throughout a season but usually not at the same time.

World class players are consistent performers. Hallaand, Mbape, Messsi, young CR7, Neymar......etc. They may have a bad half but nothing more.

How many times in the last seasons we said Kane or Son need a rest/break/should be dropped?!

Some fans have fish memory, LOL.

There's differences. Neymar definitely has blown hot and cold but also, his best football has been in 2 sides that dominated their league at the time. Not a team fighting for top 4 and playing with Winks and Hojberg behind him.
I genuinely think Mbappe is both good and over rated at the same time. Fast as fuck but plays most of his best games in France against poor opposition with..... superstars all around him.
Messi is quite obviously one of the greatest players of all time, but I do feel as though his stats were SO high because he spent the majority of his career in a league where GD doesn't matter. Funny how 2 absolutely prolific scorers both scored most of their goals there.
There's every possibility that if Kane was playing in Spain in place of Benzema he would have scored a scary number of goals by now.

Haaland at the moment is playing like a superhuman that could pass all of them. But he's still young. Money and fame could ruin him for all we know.

Kane is definitely WC. He's won several golden boots, and is on track to be the highest goalscorer in PL history, as well as England's highest goalscorer, and even now he's still scoring goals, even if he's not at his best.

You made very good points, all are qualities of WC player. But فاث periods when his form drops for weeks or months takes that quality of him. This is my opinion and you may differ.
Kane is our best player and we need him to be on top form and am sure will be back soon.

What does this even mean? We shouldn't bench last year's golden boot winner a month into the season.
So you're happy with us looking hopeless in attack and watching him screw up every time he gets the ball?
This is competitive football. It's not "sentimental football"

I don't care if he cured cancer, we need to put the players who are performing best on the pitch. He is currently one of the worst. It's beyond the odd game now. He'll need to sit there with a smile on his face and use training to play his way back into the team.

United have a 5 time ballon d'or winner sitting on the bench because he wasn't performing. You don't keep playing someone game after game after game if their presence is causing a problem.

Son is a form issue.
Ronaldo is an age/incompatibility issue.

Ergo.... False equivalence.

For fuck sake, it is a SQUAD game.

He is not playing well, he should start some games on the bench. It may just be the kick up the arse he needs.

Nobody is saying he should be banished from the starting XI forever (well nobody with a brain anyway).

We don’t know this yet. Son is getting up there and it’s possible his pace and energy will rebound but he may not ever reach his peak again. Not to mention he and Kane both do no defensive work anymore and that’s a big part of why we can’t press and we concede so much possession.

And is I’ve mentioned before, Son is not a balanced player at all. He’s very fast and one of the best finishers in the world. It’s possible a small loss in pace will mean he can no longer get his shots off as reliably.

His dribbling is highly pace dependent and his crossing is decent, though he needs that extra yard of space to get his crosses off.

He’s always been horrible in build up, so that’s not going to improve… it just usually gets covered up by his finishing.

Until proven otherwise, it's the fairest assumption never-the-less.

.....Especially as these shit spells are an annual feature of his season.

Son is 29.
Ronaldo is pushing 100. : P
