I'm going to rub sand in your dead little eyes.

Obviously, this is Darren Lewis of the Mirror, but still:

With the Eredivisie campaign now over, De Boer is ready to hold talks and ruled out moves to either Inter Milan, Juventus or Barcelona.
He added: "I have never talked with Inter Milan but I prefer the Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga.
"Italian football is very much in decline. In Italy, the stadiums are very often empty and if you want to stadiums full you must show an attractive football.
"Juventus did not play badly but they often expect that the two forward need to create something. It's not my football.
“I would not go to Barcelona. It is very difficult to be a coach there. What can you teach players like Messi and Iniesta ? Probably they need a manager rather than a coach, but I'm a coach than a manager."

Talks a lot of sense, to be fair.

75% for Pochetinno and 25% FDB on the mirror poll :\

I wonder why they cut out the part where he added that, all the same, to suggest that the Portuguese league is better than Serie A is batshit insane.

I know, almost as ridiculous as suggesting the Portuguese league is on par with the Championship I'd say.

Ajax boss Frank de Boer maintains that Tottenham Hotspur did make enquiries over his availability despite the Premier League club's denial.

De Boer, who has led Ajax to four straight league titles, recently told Dutch broadcaster NOS that Spurs had been in contact and that he planned to hold talks, but the English side then issued a statement reading: "Reports that we have made approaches to other clubs regarding coaching staff are wholly inaccurate."

In an interview with Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport's Extra Time supplement, though, former Barcelona star De Boer again stressed that Spurs had expressed an interest in his services.

"They talked informally with Ajax about my contract," De Boer said. "I think they are quite happy with their manager, but it is normal that they get information about a possible successor, as have Liverpool in the past. Liverpool had four candidates and asked me if I was interested. That time I said I wanted to stay at Ajax.

"I'm very happy here, but if a club came with an interesting perspective and a good team, I would consider the proposal. I want to understand what contribution I could give."

De Boer insisted earlier this week that he had heard nothing from Spurs since he initially claimed their interest and an earlier contender for the job, Louis van Gaal, was said to have angered chairman Daniel Levy by going public with the news he had met the club for talks.

Current Spurs head coach Tim Sherwood has also expressed frustration at other managers "touting" for his job.

Asked whether he regretted speaking to Spurs, De Boer had earlier told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad: "No, why should I? I was interviewed by NOS and gave an honest answer.

"There were already rumours for a long time. So I thought within a couple of seconds, I should speak with openness. It is very quiet here on my phone, and also for my agent. I am not busy with all that. My contract with Ajax runs until 2017, so until that time I will only think about Ajax or serious offers."

Why does Levy get so butthurt about managers confirming interest from Tottenham? It seems like everyone and their dog knew De Boer was a candidate, what's wrong with confirming it? Is it to stop Sherwood being upset?

Sherwood has an 18 month deal, and appears to expect to see it through.
Our season isnt finished yet.
Seems to me it would probably be counter productive to publically court another manager while Sherwood is still seeing out the EPL season...
