It's ridiculous that we dont have an actual specialist striker to replace/rotate with Kane.

Every season Kane misses significant time with injuries, it's just crazy how our only really option is to use Son there

We had back-up last year & the year before; Poch left him to rust and relied upon Son in emergencies.

Started this season with Parrot getting hyped, now when we need back-up it's a given that he won't be played. Doubt it would be any different if Poch was still here...

Annoying as fuck, but little point in having a designated back-up if you won't play them enough to ensure they're a viable option when relied upon.

In reality Parrott was never a backup for Kane. We were crying out for a Llorente replacement but for whatever reason it never came. We should have seen it coming after Dembele.

Son, Dele and Lucas will fill in for Kane over the next couple of months - as they did last season.

Having said all this, I have a feeling that Parrott will play against Middlesboro (or at least get some game time). It's going to be interesting to see how he shapes up against a couple of Championship CB thugs.

Bit like selling Trippier with no replacement... Poch rolled the dice on options he evidently wasn't prepared to commit to (see Foyth as RB).

No sure I follow this comment....

...Last season; as in when we also had Llorente who'd been allowed to become rusty as fuck from nominal game time since arriving.

Not sure if it's your intent, but you're not exactly dispelling my previous post here mate.

I hope you're right.. Can't say I'm confident that he will be granted a start tho'.[/quote]

People have this idea all the time. It’s a bit of fallacy.
Most CBs are physical players by nature of the game but not necessarily thugs.

Middlesbrough have a young English CB who has played at all ages for the international sides up to under 21s.

But yeah. Maybe he’s a thug. I have no idea.

A former England / Spurs CB who was a convicted thug is their manager I guess. So will give you that one.

The irony.

Surely this will force a move for another striker

At a normal club.

We are mental and this has been coming.

I am so disgusted and all this rubbish about not getting another striker because they wouldn't play is more sh!t.

We play lots of games, need quality options and someone to push Kane.

Now we may be forced to look for a striker that selling clubs know we need.

It's simply pathetic.

As a club, every single time we get close we do ALL the wrong things.

Now we have no identity whatsoever.

Kane is a super player but Pochettino allowed himself to get obsessed by him and as a club we have contributed to the bloke's loss of physical edge.
