Wouldn't he have done the second on the list too?

And yet bizarrely you'd have to say he had a slightly disappointing tournament in some ways, very poor in our last three games. Of course he could have been carrying a knock but he and Southgate repeatedly denied it so the only explanation is that his form dropped off.Equalled the first one (6)

Depends if it's his first or the team's first three.Wouldn't he have done the second on the list too?
His first three games were Tunisia (scored twice), Panama (scored hattrick), Colombia (scored)

Have fun in your echo chamber!
I am sorry but Kane is overrated: 3 goals against the mighty Panama (probably the worst team ever to be at a world cup), 2 goals against mighty Tunisia and one goal against Columbia. Four of those were on penalties and one was a shot which rikocheted off Kane's ass and was credited to him. In the league he has scored only four(!) goals against the other top 6 teams, three of which came against Liverpool. That is not the hallmark of a top class striker. Top class strikers turn up on the big occasions. Kane almost never does. Take Eriksen away and Kane will become invisible. Kane is GOOD but NOT top class.

I know he was being asked to play a different role, but even so, he was missing chances that he'd be putting away with his eyes shut normally, esp vs Croatia.
Not having a Scouse-esque go at him, his captaincy was fantastic, as was the unselfish side to his game (esp vs Colombia), but strikers inevitable are judged on how they take their chances
I did say that I think he is good, I just happen to think that someone better than Kane is needed to take the next step. A rather innocuous point of view, I should say.
Most goals by an England player in a single tournament – Gary Lineker, 6 (1986)
Most goals by an England player in World Cups – Gary Lineker, 10 (1986, 1990
First England player to score in first three games at a World Cup
Most goals in a World Cup group stage – Oleg Salenko, 6 (Russia, 1994)
First player to score in six consecutive England games for 79 years (currently on five) – Tommy Lawton, 1938-39 (a record, jointly held with Tinsley Lindley in 1987-88 and Jimmy Windridge in 1908)
Most England goals in a single calendar year (currently on six) – 12, George Hilson in 1908 and Dixie Dean in 1927
OK, your opinion is your own, fair enough.
Could you suggest *who* we should sign to be better?
I have been issued a "yellow card". So much for free speech. That's the way to stop a discussion in here - just press "foul" a few times and make anybody who disagrees with you go away.

Probably shouldn’t come in here slagging off one of the greatest strikers in tottenham’s history then, should you.
We don’t sing “he’s one of our own” for nothing…
Obvious troll is obvious.
And you still haven’t answered the question you were asked – who, realistically, could we sign that is better than Kane?
Answer or fuck off, frankly.

Free speech is not freedom from the consequences of your speech. Please don't play the victim here; you surely knew that your opinion would be very controversialI have been issued a "yellow card". Any name I'd tender would be immediately ridiculed (and "fouled").
So you don't have any then.
Ok
