Nice little private message off your resident herbert cretinous goat

I'm on my last warning apparently :pochfacepalm:

You're on your last warning. Try and mug me off again and I'll meet you in Newport and end you on the spot you little cunt.

Now, get the fuck off our forum before you humiliate yourself further.

Newport IS a shithole - fact. Just because you live there, doesn't make it not a shithole.

Bet you're one of those utter scum plebs who is proud of living in pill, aren't ya, you wankstain.

Get a life and stick to your own forums. This one isn't for you.

-------------

I've never quite got what doughnuts get out of acting tough over a message forum myself, but they're always worthy of a good giggle at.

It's coz in real life, I'm only man enough to wrestle girls :(

And I still lose.

Isn't there a bit of history between Newport and Pompey, aggro wise I mean, sure I have heard about it.

Will be a fun away day, the whole town will be out for us lol

The nickname exiles derives from the fact that in 1989 the original incarnation of Newport County went bust. Unfortunately only a year or so prior to this, clubs could fold as their original form and open up as a new limited company from that year - that's how Bristol City trade under Bristol City 1986 and I think Middlesborough did the same.

When we went bust, the club had to be reformed and start from scratch but the Welsh FA tried to force us into the Welsh football pyramid, along with a number of other clubs who become known as the irate 8. They went on to form the Welsh premiership but Newport refused and as such were banned from playing in Wales and had to play in near by Gloucestershire and that's where the nickname exiles comes from.

It is said that John Aldridge (former player) bought the rights to the name Newport County back for the club and we're also known as the ironsides, a nickname that referenced our old ground at Somerton Park being adjacent to Cromwell Road.

It took us 25 years to get back into the football league, our badge shows the year we were formed, 1912 and the year we were reformed, 1989. Newport has a partizan fan base, passed down from generation to generation.

People from Newport are proud and having County in the football league means everything - to draw Spurs in the cup is massive and will be talked about for years.

Local rivals are Cardiff City, Bristol Rovers and to an extent, Swansea.

There are countless pubs and bars in the city, the ground is within a 5 minute walk of the centre and pretty much easy as it gets to navigate from the train station - barring an escort.

It will be a great occasion and it seems to have caught the footballing worlds imagination, which can only be a good thing for both clubs.

We came back from 14 points a drift last season to stay in the football league with a last minute winner in the final game. We have kicked on from that and are challenging for promotion this season with some of the best football I've seen for years.

Hope that fills you in on a few things about the County.

Everybody hates Bristol Rovers!

I used to live around the corner from their stadium. Going out on match days was like manoeuvring through a herd of drunk, tattooed cows.

Looking forward to the day, no chance of a ticket (unless my drunken mate gets so drunk they won't let him in). On paper we should win of course but we shouldn't underestimate Newport (remembering Port Vale/Bradford) but above all show them some respect, and that includes their fans. I remember someone mocking Preston when we drew them in the league cup as he didn't know that we played in the colours we do because of them. As for areas being khazis well those in glass houses etc..

Couple of old timers I know from Hereford tell me your traditional rivals always used to be Hereford United. Used to be some right old dust ups between the fans in the 70s and 80s apparently.

Just nicked this off the Newport County forum

Mike Flynn, Pochettino, Guardiola, Mourinho and Wenger in the pub.

Guardiola buys a round of sangrias and they all enjoy a drink.

Then Mourinho goes to the bar and buys a round of red wines.

Next Pochettino goes up and buys a round of champagne because he's a classy guy.

When it's Flynn's turn he buys 4 beers, takes one himself and passes the others to Guardiola, Pochettino and Mourinho.

Wenger sayes, "Excusez moi, Monsieur Flynn, but where is my beer?"

Flynn says, "Sorry Arsene but this is the 4th round and you're not in it!"

P.S For those of you that don't know, Flynn is the NCFC manager.

All very interesting, but do you know Goldie Lookin Chain (and can you arrange introductions)?

Bristol city's cup run brings back some memories of playing them in the past.
I'll never forget going there in 1977 as a 16 year old, we lost a midweek league match after dominating the game. The fun started after the match when it kicked off big time in a big park just outside the ground.
This was some of the worst fighting I've seen at the footy, trouble was breaking out all over the place for at least a couple of hours. By the time we got back to Temple meads station the last train to London was long gone.
I spent the night in the station with at least 100 fellow spurs fans.
Trouble was I missed an interview for an apprenticeship the following morning! The old man wasn't best pleased

I was at that game (i was 17). Spurs were lobbing stuff into the home end from the bank to the right hand side (from our perspective) if memory serves. Carnage. I managed to get back to the smoke in one piece on the same day though!

I was in non league football at the time. I remember the Welsh FA were even out fucking up the FA. They ordered you to join the Welsh league but would allow Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham to continue in the Football League. Took a lot of courage to front those clowns, but you did it.
The FAs of both countries were persecuting any non league club that were robbed by crooks, and between them and the tax man, it's testament to people like yourselves that they survived at all.
Good luck to you, and if you do beat us, I will applaud you off the pitch.
Despite the Money God, I have never abandoned our beloved Football Association Challenge Cup.
