Doesn’t really work like that. West Ham came 7th last season and ended up in a part relegation battle with Conference League football this season.

European football takes its toll on the squad and affects our performance in the league. There are 2 cups we get a chance to win each season called the league cup and FA cup and unlike the conference league they are not Mickey Mouse competitions but proper cups.

The club needs a proper reset like it has never had before. The Conference League would make that much harder. The goal next season should be to implement a modern progressive football style built top to bottom from CFO down to scouts, getting rid of deadwood players and brining in new players.

Chelsea beat us to the title when they had no European football and just one game a week. Leicester also had that advantage during their title win. Having no European football can give space to a team if it is properly

I know what cups there are - Conference League is mickey mouse but League cup isn’t by your reckoning ? Repeat - we should be able to field a team Thursday and Sunday.

league Cup is an old historic cup, it isn’t as prestigious as the FA Cup, League or CL but it is a proper cup. Conference League is a money spinner for UEFA, it’s why West Ham and Florentina are it’s elite sides.

We should be able to field a team for both Thursday and Sunday but should and could are different. We’d still be throwing on Kane (if he is still here) and Son in these games and burning them out for League and FA cup fixtures.

We ain't making it so don't worry we need to win what we can't do and villa not to do Brighton who we already be in Europe by then. But honestly being in Europe is about the fans and it's also a cup to win to what is about our level. We have a massive squad and to be honest may have given some young players a go to see how good they are. But once again spurs fuck it up

Brighton wrapped up 6th with two ganes to spare. Shocking state of our decline this season from being in top 4 and looking like we would hold on albeit playing crap to 8/9th.

Not making it into the conference league has to be considered a failure. Because Spurs should always have it as a baseline requirement to play in Europe. Doesn't matter the competition.

Failing to qualify is not a Pyrrhic victory.

No but there are bigger workings at play. If we lose Kane and do the recruitment badly the Conference League qualification is the difference between mid table and a relegation battle.

Spurs should play with the confidence of being able to balance a solid league run with a European run. We should not take the cowards approach to sack one for the other.

Or it could be extra games to give game time to players who arent in the first 11 who could then step up and replace the underperforming first 11 players.

Really tricky one, can see why the vote is close.

Personally I'd rather us be in Europe than not. Appreciate the Conf, league is shit but in saying that we should be winning it and we'd be up there with the favourites to do so.

IF we can balance the thursday/sunday games well, why not?

We never do that though it always ends up losing to some shit team then throwing Kane and the rest on.

Brighton Brentford and Villa have played much better football over the season and for Brighton especially to claim European football for the first time in their history I think is just reward for how they've coped with being skinned by the likes of Chelsea, it's somewhat ironic that they will finish 20 points clear of them, they decided on risk and reward football and it paid off and it's good to watch so no qualms at all about finishing below Brighton, having no European commitments maybe a blessing in disguise as it's quite clear the club needs to refocus from top to bottom, it's not over until big Bertha sings but in truth I'm not actually bothered one way or another.
