In all fairness we’ll probably be replacing Eriksen, Dembele, and Toby this summer.
You look at Liverpool and Utd and do you really think that their recent signings are out of our league? Lindelof, Kieta etc etc?
Of course we’ll get some players in that can improve us. The problem is that people think the only step up from Eriksen is signing Ginola.
There’s a few cobwebs that need dusting off this team, and it’s not Trippier and Dier.
You’ll all be pleasantly surprised next season when you realise where our actual problems lie.....final 3rd.

You have to contextualise stats. Eriksen may be thought of still as an ACM/10, but he hasn't been that for most of this season, he's nearly always played as an midfield 8 in Poch's 41212 formats. So you have to compare with other players playing similar roles. Players like Pogba, Silva (both), DeBruyne, Xhaka, Kovacic, Keita, Moutinho etc. And he compares pretty favourably. Only one of those, Pogba has more goals, none have more assists, in fact no "midfielder" in the PL has more assists. 4 midfielders average marginally more key passes (Silva, Moutinho, Gross, Seri). Of those, only Pogba, Silva and Seri average more passes per game.
For the record there are 13 players who have higher goal/assist. 9 of those are forwards, 3 are wide forwards (Hazard/Sterling/Sane). Fraser has the same tally but he's an AM/WF/Winger.
David Silva, for example, who plays an almost identical role to that Eriksen has played most weeks, has one more goal and 5 less assists, and averages 0.2 more key passes a game. * more passes a game. And he's pretty universally acknowledged as one of this league's best players.
The bottom line is, there really aren't many players in this league who combine the midfield input, see the ball 50+ times a game and provide the conduit through which a team links defence and attack, with creative productivity as well as he does.
As well as being our highest key passer, for the record, of players who have played more than 500 minutes of football (ie enough to form some kind of fair control) Eriksen is also our player with the highest average XA90 (0.26 per 90 - expected assist rate per 90 on pitch) which is a calculation of quality not just quality. So is the player most likely to create a goal out of our whole regular team.
As far as assists and key passes go, there is no other player who plays the quality, incisive passes he does, as consistently as he does, and the stats, not just the bare totals, but also the XA stats support this. For all the assists he gets by just tapping it to someone who whacks it from the edge of the box, there are many occasions where Eriksen plays a wonderful through ball or pass that gets wasted.

And on the flip side, when he leaves, you can sit there shitting your pants and crying because the project is over, nothing can ever be good again, we will never win anything (how ironic that in Eriksens 6yrs we havent won anything anyway), the stadium will now be a waste of time due to the fact Eriksen has gone so we're now fucking shit, and the best we can hope for is a battle for 7th with West Ham and Wolves.

Whatever Eriksen's faults are if he goes bearing in mind the club's finances the squad will be weaker. The chances of us buying a replacement that hits the ground running and is as good as Eriksen in the first season is negligible. How much that will affect results remains to be seen. Eriksen misses very few matches but if we can manage without Kane and Dele we can manage without Eriksen. But there is no doubt in my mind we are a better team with Eriksen in it than without it.

If you are in the camp that Spurs may as well pack up shop if Eriksen leaves, then good for you.
Too many people have already decided any replacement will be a failure and we will go backwards.
The melting is being pre prepared for another summer of slagging off the club and next seasons scapegoat is being lined up, whoever he may be. It’s already decided we’ve downgraded.
All this for a player who’s had a direct hand in 14 goals, scoring 5 (same as Ryan Fraser)

Honestly if you don't think Eriksen leaving will get some of the other top players in the squad looking over their shoulder as well you're absolutely delusional. So yes I would be worried if he left this summer as it very well could lead to us going backwards.
Winning nothing and making no progress are two very different things. If you think where we are now is comparable to where we were 10 years ago then I don't know what to tell you. You can take back Juande Ramos and our cup win if you think those were the better days.
