Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Just seen the match highlights. All 3 goals were out of the top drawer & even without the stunning hat trick, he was absolute quality.
Brilliant performance from our man. Just waiting for the inevitable “Eriksen tracked by Barca” & “Spurs must win trophy/double his salary/etc” stories to proliferate.

We sold Bale & ended up with a prince (plus a few frogs) who is now every bit as influential & without the injury problems.

Things turned out ok for us really!

Underrated part of his game that no one besides Spurs fans know is his work rate. Runs his socks off. He does it intelligently too. He's not just chasing people down, he's running into avenues to prevent opposing players passing, intercepting play and creating chances.

He always gets compared to the likes of Isco, Coutinho etc but his all round game is different to theirs. Is he better? Meh, he's quite simply a different player. World class, easily.

Yeah, but all that stuff is what Pochettino has drilled into him...

"All the players have long-term contracts. They feel safe being here. It's why you commit your future to a place like this."

He added: "[Pochettino] gives his players a lot of confidence and he trusts to let them play.

"I have played a lot of games under the manager now. He knows what I'm good for and what I'm not good for but he trusts me completely.

"You feel that trust and it makes you want to do everything for him".

That says it all

It's interesting to note that Eriksen is still with the same relatively low profile agent that he had whilst he was at Ajax.

It's logical to think that whilst most agents are regarded as scumbags by football suporters (and warranted in most cases), it's once they change agents to one of the larger and more notorious management companies that it becomes more obvious that they are receptive to having their head turned.

i was recently trying to explain to someone why he's better than Coutinho. Countiho is immensely talented- on pure talent alone, maybe even one of the top EPL players. But eriksen's workrate, intelligence, mental fortitude and more than anything, his desire to influence a game, is what makes him better. Its these intangible qualities that people just don't always get and unfortunately 99% of football 'fans' are MOTD and Youtube 'analysts'.

Eriskens has these big moments too, but countihio's are usually all jammed into a 10 game streak, when admittedly he looks like a world beater - when its all going right for him. Outside of this purple patch he has spells of laziness and disinterest, He's easy to take out of a game and shows no consistent desire to influence them.

and isco plays for madrid so must be better.
