Levy didn't appreciate how lucky he was to have landed Poch and the years of progress that followed with so little investment. He thought he had it all figured out but the panicked appointment of Mou just shows that he doesn't know what he is doing. We need a director of football to take charge of matters and deal with all transfer and managerial business.

What I want to know, is what happened to the £75m we supposedly tried to spend on Dybala?
Did Poch and Levy really think that Aurier could be our only RB? That Wanyama could still do a job as a DM? That Llorente didn’t need to be replaced? Did we end the season knowing our business was half-finished or did we genuinely think we’d dome enough to be competitive? Maybe that CL final run deluded them, as it did many fans, that we didn’t have a very weak squad.

By not signing players in the wasted transfer windows he gambled that our squad was good enough to get by. Results have proved otherwise and it has cost us big in manager compensation/ salary fees, lost cup revenues and probably residual player values should any of our now underperforming ‘stars’ wish to desert the sinking ship.
For all that though, who else (better) is going to come in and replace Enic?

The great fallacy is that football is about winning trophies. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about revenue streams, it is about exciting new synergies and maximising return on investment, about brand visibility and breaking into new markets, not bothering about trivial stuff like success on the pitch
