Superb post, couldn’t agree more

I wish I didn’t have to make the post truth be told but it’s honestly how I feel.

I don’t look forward to football at the moment, i watch out of love for spurs and dedication to my club because I have spent my entire life supporting us but the media make me want to just fuck football off completely.

The narrative about us will NEVER change unless we suddenly become the next Man City and Sky and all the other media cunts can get a piece of that money, that’s all the care about.

Until we bend to their will and spunk £200M per window they won’t be happy, they hate us because we don’t do things the way they believe it should be done in the modern age.

Honestly it makes me sick, the bias against us makes me sick, we can’t do a single thing right and every time we lose a single game it’s immediately “Bottlers” or “they need to sign players” or “the manager and players will leave for silverware”

It honestly fucks me off and there are dumb asses out there who lap it up and believe it.

Away goals haven't counted in the Semi final for years, they only used to count after extra time, but then they scrapped extra time...
Which makes no sense, why would they only count after extra time when that is only played in one leg. It isn't hard to get right and it's fucked us here. They obviously think there's some sort of advantage gained by playing at home, or they wouldn't have two legs...in which case the away goal rule should be in place.

Football would be infinitely more watchable without the media, everything about the football media in this country makes me detest the game, they suck the fun out of football and they implant negativity into the dumb supporters who buy their narrative.

We aren’t bottlers but we might as well be because every cunt that listens to the media believes it.

It’s impossible to avoid the media as well, every news article about us has a slant, every broadcast has the same old bullshit negative twist, that’s why they do it, they know it gets into supporters heads.

Honestly I am getting tired of it, getting too old for this bullshit every week.
I know it, I've cut it all down...Talksport was first to go, then SSN, then all match build-up, half-time, post match after the interviews and now podcasts, I haven't even listened to The Fighting Cock pod since Christmas...This is the last bastion of dodgy football opinion I have left...

Imagine, if you will, that we had a fully fit team and managed to limp across the line (which really is what penalties are) against a Chelsea team that had an injured Hazard, Pedro, and Willian with Alonso and Kovacic being forced off during the game.

I'd be glad, but not exactly smug...

I want signings as much as anyone, but unless he personally went round with a crowbar hobbling our players, this isn't 'Levy's fault'.

Tonight was always going to be an uphill task with the players we had out. Instruggle to see why anyone saw progressing tonight as anything more than a bonus with how it had shaped up beforehand.

No Harry, Dele or Son, obviously our attacking nous was going to be completely different to how it usually is. Luck of the draw not just in this game but throughout the tie with games vs Watford, West Ham away, Woolwich away & Chelsea with our guns out just how it goes sometimes

But we were completely outplayed in the home game too, with our best players. Poor tactics and performances in both games IMO. Really don't understand why we weren't more aggressive, stuck someone on Jorginho and pressed them harder like we did in the league game, at least in the home game. We were just so timid in both games.

Fucking gutted. Great 2nd half compared to the first. Got to give us credit for that. It's been said but to take it to pens after the first half performance showed real character.

I now believe if we can get a result against Palace we could really pick up the FA cup this year. Get our players back and with that fight we showed plus the disappointment of the loss I believe will really push us on to grab the cup. Without our top 3 scorers to come down to a lottery of penalties will show this squad they are capable.

We have been really up against it this season for all the obvious reasons what with Poch to Utd/Injuries/no transfers/no stadium but the character of the team will push us on and I believe we'll see our greatest achievement under Poch this season for all those reasons. Top 4 and the FA cup.

COYS!!!!:tobyarm:

A lot of people here saying, ‘calm down’, ‘I’m proud of the lads’ etc etc.

It’s not good enough. I don’t really enter debates about Levy/Enic being tight, Poch wanting out or afraid to buy players or the lack of signings but perhaps the reason we are always the bridesmaids in the second half of the season is that our players have put so much effort in (particularly Oct/Nov/Dec) that come end of Jan/Feb/Mar they are either exhausted or injured.

Not sure where we are on that financial list but the way we carry on we are like Bournemouth, plucky little Spurs punching above their weight.

Don’t like the cunt offs in here but we’ve (as a fanbase) been treated fairly shabbily by the club over the stadium/season tickets etc, it’s ok and not ‘disloyal’ to question certain things about the club - choking, personnel and lack of transfers.

The fact that it invariably is Chelsea sticking the boot in hurts even more...

Agree with your last

If it had happened against anyone else it wouldn’t have been so bad but these cunts are the pits and I’m including the Dippers

We are dead tired as a team. Sissoko and Winks obvious ones.

Fair enough point.. But you honestly don't think we need some better players or just some more players of the same quality as our starting 11..we would be fucking spectacular with some of those type of quality players that all the other clubs buy..if you don't invest to progress in football you stand still.. not my words but still wise ones that ring very true..

Of course it would be nice to get new players, but we are in a position where we have the stadium and a squad that needs to free up spaces before we bring someone in.

We're improving year on year, how many signings will it take for us to catch City or Pool? 1, 2, 3, how much will it cost?

I'd much prefer we keep improving year on year as a club, we go into the stadium with a lot of the debt paid off and then really have a go at a title challenge, by signing the players we all crave.

Most fans who went through the shit of the 90's i'm guessing or i'd like to think will feel pretty much the same way.

A lot of younger fans don't have the patience, they want everything now. Of course it would be nice if Poch surprises us with a couple of great signings.

Why are you mentioning money generated in these matches? Are you a shareholder or club executive? This is THFC (Tottenham Hotspur Football Club) supporters forum.
You.. can read right?? I’m stating how it’s a sad fact that it means little to the club and how it’s us fans hurting once more

Some people on here tonight need to take a long hard look at themselves and take a step back and re-assess what being a fan of a club is all about.

Fucking moaning, miserable cunts, who suck the energy out of this place.

I'm proud of this team, they never give up. I'm proud of where we are and where we're heading. Following this club is amazing, the lows and the highs. No shame in losing that game on pens with all the injuries. Anyone ranting about no signings and squad not big enough bore of you fucking sad wankers.

Yid Army :tobyarm:
You seem way more interested in melters than Tottenham. Only a few days ago you were basking in the glory of our last minute winner by trying to get in lots of cunt offs with melters.
& your trying to tell people how to be a good supporter. I am not a good supporter but at least i know it.
Now my advice to you.. Enjoy Tottenham, stop your mad obsession with melters.
If we win, enjoy it. Don't go on about melters & try go get in to cunt offs.
You don't seem proud of Tottenham tonight, you seem proud of being a better supporter whilst cringingly bragging about what a great fan you are.
If you are as proud as you say of the club, go & be proud. Don't reply to melters like me.

That's life though.

It's about getting one up on us. Amazing how Chelsea's slew of foreign managers seem to know how important their games with us are.

They won and we didn't.

We have to find a way somehow and quite frankly I would be jumping through hoops if we played their reserves and won of course.

I just think we got to learn to be winners and I mean that as a club as opposed to just tonight.

I have honestly done the same thing for the past year, don’t listen to post or pre match build up, I hardly ever consume football media anymore but unless I want to sit and watch a match in pure silence I still have to hear their bollocks.

I am honestly going to start avoiding football websites completely and watching matches with the sound completely off and just have some music on, the fact is though, it shouldn’t have to come to that should it?

These absolute cunts are making me hate football, it’s not just our games I can’t stand watching either, the commentators are terrible no matter what game, they are not impartial at all.

Ah gutted. Thought we might nick it in the shootout. Maybe a step too far this game. Our proper team we do them tonight. Boys showed some guts and fight second half which is all I could ask. Rose was great. If we are honest we rode our luck at times and it could have been curtains at HT.
Saving grace is at least it would've been City so a tall order.

My mates find it strange when I say I’m not watching the football, when it’s a big game. I have no interest any more unless it’s Spurs. I am only in my mid 20s and don’t care for football much, I just absolutely love Spurs so I buy my season ticket and support them like my family.

The media have brainwashed the public into believing false narratives, I don’t even like discussing football over a pint anymore because of the amount of rubbish being spouted by fellas believing media narratives.

Newspapers and sky tv are slowly ruining the beautiful game, there are still some good reporters and pundits out there but they’re are few and far between.

I really understand your point.
