Tottenham Hotspur FC should clarify the situation whether good news or bad. They should put a stop to all the nonsense reporting and opinions form all. Nip it in the bud now. Because other clubs will get to know, if its a serious injury, it cant be for that reason.

My feelings, they are keeping it quiet because its a discipline matter (here you go, another opinion?)
Here's an explanation. Shit happens, sometimes athletes are out for long spells with complex injuries, and there's no sense in people getting bent out of shape manufacturing increasingly fantastic conspiracy scenarios.

Love Lamela, very underrated in my opinion, I'm sure not everyone will agree.

Gutted for him but happy to see his quotes. He will come back from this, he's always looked like somebody who has an incredible self belief in his abilities, even when things weren't going his way and that goes a long way.

It's a shame he's played his last game at the lane but his goals there against both Manchester clubs last season are two of the best moments of the poch era for me. (In terms of atmosphere in the stadium when they happened). With the obvious exceptions of goals against Woolwich and Chelsea.

Can't wait to have him back!

Perhaps he has developed mental health problems that need treating but that, unfortunately, might compound his ability to play. Perhaps he has developed a situation that he never previous faced. Perhaps he's aching for a sex change. Perhaps he has a major Class A drug habit, or maybe he's devastated by the loss of a pet over six months ago. Perhaps he's accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal saviour and has gone to a silent retreat in Tuscany or maybe he was abducted by space aliens who removed his hip and have taken it back to their planet for further study. We just don't know.

Or maybe he was injured
You're criticising speculation, while accepting something in blind faith.

We have world class player support at the club these days, that's why so few players get injured for any extended length of time. Now, I do appreciate that random speculation is just that. But at the same time, having worked with doctors, known doctors as friends and even had a surgeon for a father-in-law I just find it, let's say, unusual that it takes six months to determine that surgery is required. If there was a dispute between club doctors and his own specialists over the necessary treatment, then it is bothersome that it has taken so long to resolve, especially if the club didn't seek a second opinion.

I'm not going to assert speculation as fact, but I do understand why some people think there's something fishy going on, given the passage of time.

You don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about

Can't believe so-called Spurs fans are still pedaling this tin-foil hat bullshit on here and questioning the credentials of tens of professional doctors with decades of experience. Embarrassing scenes.

My wife has had a bad ankle since our second child was born (four years ago). She had scans and nothing showed so had physio for four months, still didn't get better then went for surgery as the surgeon said they couldn't see anything on the scan but would have more of an idea once opened up. After the op the surgeon said they cleaned the ankle joint a little but couldn't really see anything wrong. A year later my wife still gets ankle pain. She has had two discectomies after going through several injections in her spine. At times the pain was excruciating and something I wouldn't have been able to deal with myself so I know her ankle must be hurting.

Sometimes these things happen and it's impossible to get to the bottom of it which is difficult for outsiders to understand.

If I was Lamella it would depress the shit out of me, luckily he seems to be made of sterner stuff!

Did this coincide with a poor patch of form? I've got a theory that she doesn't have an ankle injury, but instead her brain is triggering the pain receptors in her ankle, making it seem like she does have an ankle injury, in order to protect her from the criticism of the fans on her form.

If we had our current best team fully fit and Lamela got fit as well

He would be a sub. So I'm not sure what the angst is all about.

Who would we drop to make way for him? Alli, Eriksen, Moose- Wanyama?

This is the crux of the matter imo.

Every time in the last few seasons, something has happened each time to put him down the pecking order.

AVB/Mad Tim - injuries, Bentaleb comes from nowhere for starting place in MF.
Poch 1st season - Eriksen clearly overtakes him, despite a far smaller transfer fee;
Poch 2nd season - Dele Ali (who?) comes from nowhere (well, Milton Keynes, but hey?). Was even behind Chadli for a while, even when Chadli was starting on bench.
This season - Injuries, and a back 3 formation and one fewer places available in MF, Victor and Moose/Winks automatic picks, and 5 places going to back 3 Rose and Walker.

The injuries will be very disheartening for any pro, but ditto the above, and its all very visible. If he's happy to stay as a sub and getting used in rotation, fine. I'm sure it's not how he, the club and his agent envisaged it.

But by that logic, Isco (or any other signing) wouldn't get it the team either.

Whether he gets in the team automatically is irrelevant. We need a squad full of quality players if we wont to compete. Son does not get in the team every week but his contributions this season have been fantastic. Lamela could be similar.
