Even if this doesn't have the tag of an 1882 game (which seems to be the case), I will still be there in Block 35, and it seems others will be too.

As it often mentioned by the guys on the pod / on twitter etc, the whole point of the movement is that eventually it isn't needed, and I already get the impression that it has enough of a backing now that block 35 will still have a noticeable atmosphere for cup games even if it's not labelled with 1882. All part of the process.

1882 1882

answer the fucking question yiddo, you going to be there or not ?? we are all fucking waiting on you mate.....

...ahem, ironically, I myself am now a 'Dad & Kid'... but he's too young for this one. I'll see how I go... got a lousy record this season (W-0 D-0 L-2)
B-0-Sspurs B-0-Sspurs I can only offer my apologies for my rash comment... you know who I meant, those Dad's & Kids for whom it is just a one-off day out... the ones who clear out the Megastore of Merch pre-match, sit in the Paxton quietly with a packed lunch (though I realise the little'uns have to eat during 90mins... but they've only just finished their £6+ Burger from one of the Designated THFC approved vans outside!) and then whistle a happy tune walking back after another demoralising defeat!

I do see plenty of Kids with their Dads/Mums/Worrying Uncle in the Park Lane/Shelf, and more strength to their little elbows.
If you're gonna give 'em a football education, I'd rather it was the realistic one; with desperate defeats and bad moods and inexcusable defending, and frustrations bordering on madness... rather than the brightly polished, sanitised Premier League brand version Sky want us to believe!

Even if it isn't officially an 1882 game, if enough of us are in the same blocks then we can make a decent atmosphere and enjoy it. The idea of the movement seems to be about improving the atmosphere so if we can do it durring a non-1882 match then that will show the idea behind it is working

The 1882 do a cracking job for the cup games but wouldn't it be great to get that sort of atmosphere back in the league at home , At Villa on Sunday we was very loud but it seems at home no one wants to sing for some reason, QPR at home was good but apart from that I can't really remember us singing all game ? Around the Redknapp time our fans we're one of the loudest in the league I would love us to get back to that atmosphere

...and during Jol's era, we were probably even louder!!!

No we definitely were, 10 years ago tomorrow I was at the lane for Charlton 3 Tottenham 2, and the atmpsphere was better than most wins now, as there was no expectancy then, we had come off 7/8 years of misery so anything was a bonus. It was great, no social media hyping it all up and unrealistic mother fuckers in the crowd.

Is everybody on a wind up here? Two points;

1) I have been to a few games this season that 1882 have attended and the atmosphere has been shocking. Just a handful of people singing songs that are cringe.

2) When the corner of the Shelf & Park Lane are in full voice that's what you call an atmospheric ground, not twenty chaps from 1882 yelling. I'm not having a go - you all enjoy yourself - and that's really all that matters at football.

But don't be arrogant enough to believe you give the ground a new lease of life and make away fans sit in awe of us. You really don't. 1882 were at the Brighton match, which was an alright atmosphere, but the songs coming from the Shelf/Park corner carried around the ground. 1882's nine renditions of Oh When The Spurs didn't.

The main question seems to be why has the atmosphere vanished at WHL?
-Probably because we're doing shocking on the pitch, three years ago we had a chance to make a brilliant team and since we've gone down hill. Brought players, staff and managers who aren't Tottenham. There's no passion from the club or players. Why would there be passion from the fans? Who feel let down at the fact you pay £48, to be forced to sit down, whilst watching your team limp along to lose 3-0 to Liverpool?

Was that the one where we were 3-0 down, and very nearly got the draw? If so I was at that, and the crowd was great as you say. if it wasn't just ignore me like the don't know my history, plastic, that I clearly am.

No that was it totally right, was in my usual seat in paxton with the sun in my eyes, Robbo was taking free kicks from the halfway line pumping the ball into the box to the 3 strikers, I miss keano you know

Lets not put the rose tinters on too much, I have been at more games than i care to remember during the 90's where the crowd was booing and jeering players during the game and arguements used to start constantly during the Gross, Francis and later part of George Graham's tenure, i also remember the lane having a posionous atmosphere during the Venables and Sugar era and i cant forget the racist little fucker at peterborough away in the FA cup who was calling Ardlies all kinds of names.......the 90s, apart from the 91 cup run was a miserable time to be a Spurs fan, only the 99 league cup final stopped it being any worse.....

Same as when people say about the atmosphere being great when Harry was in charge, apart from a handful of games it was as bad then as it is now. You only need to go back to some of the earliest threads on this forum and you'll find people moaning about the lack of atmosphere as that time.

To be honest even under Jol I can remember plenty of games where the ground was a bit of a morgue.

Just seen on twitter that there will be no 1882 for the game as Newcastle have sold out there allocation , Is there not a block that we could all buy tickets together in to try and get the atmosphere going ? As I take it Park Lane will nearly all be gone, Top corner of the shelf maybe ?
Surely we just go for whichever block of the PL lower is next to their lot? Assuming you mean East upper, it's no good as the upper tier stewards have to be much stricter on enforcing sitting down.

...or given that tickets are £25 everywhere in the ground, why don't we just pick a random block in the West/North lower and give the usual inhabitants a bit of a shock?

Only 17 tickets left in block 34 already. I bought last night and even then I had to get quite near the front. Loads in 33 and 32 though. Wonder if that's anything to do with 1882, or just people wanting to buy next to the away fans.

Either way, the fact it's sold so quickly (and all to ST / Members) suggests we should have a good atmosphere in there.
