Steve Parish was just kicking Off on Talksport

We have supposedly offered £12million plus 2 in add-ons

Poch thinks he's the next Ronaldo

Wouldn't sell him even for £35 million

Stinks of a PR stunt from Palace to be fair

Poch said he would like a player like Zaha after not speaking about Zaha first which could mean N'Koudou. Quotes being misleading

Parish is a cunt and hope Palace get relegated

I mean if Poche has specifically sought out Zaha and went as far as confirming with the media his interest why wouldnt you at least give the guy a shot with the squad before you say hes got nothing to offer. I know I dont know a ton about football since I just recently got into it again the clip wasnt overly impressive but I thought he looked like one of their best players and the team didnt really play well at all but I thought he provided a few of the bright spots they did achieve. Hes another attacker who seems to play wide well and has some pace and although Poche doesnt like to push his midfielders out wide too much with the addition of Janssen and the possibilities of running multiple formations to me means for £11 in this market Zaha isnt really a bad buy.

Not that I particularly rate Zaha, he had a half decent game the other day and showed some attributes we lack. But essentially in poch I trust, and I can't wait to see all you gays wax lyrical and key board bash with boners about how much you rate him when it pays off!

Steve Parish has just said it won't happen, you can all calm down
since we've only offered 14 million and they want more.
Luckily he will be out of our price range as anything above
20m is only in the range of the big boys , Palace , Southampton ,
Everton , Stoke etc .
Thank fuck for that , we can get that winger bloke from France who's 10m , taken about six weeks to sign , nobody's heard off,
and thankfully nobody's else is interested in .
Bobs your uncle.

So uhh, you want Zaha?

Hardly the sort of player you pay big for. If somebody like Stoke wants to break the bank for Zaha I'd be happy for them to waste their money.

Like when everyone moaned about Bolasie when we were linked for £15m, then he goes to Everton a season later for £25m

:chadliblow:

At 3pm yesterday I thought "I'd be fucked off signing Zaha on a free" now the deal is dead I feel a little let down !

Fickle or is it #fickle ?

:kanehand:

Hopefully the Zaha transfer speculation comes to nothing, but at least it shows (as with N'Koudou) that Poch and the club have turned their attention to getting a CAM who is fast and tricky.

Spurs boss Pochettino admits he would like to sign another pacy attacking midfielder

Funnily enough, it was only earlier in the day that this Q&A with Danny Rose made me raise an eyebrow...

Who does Danny Rose list as his candidates for 4x100m relay runners?

Alli
Chadli
Dier
Walker

Now I know we're not privy to training, but just from using our eyes watching the matches, I'm not sure any of us would consider Chadli or Alli to be particularly rapid (Dier is deceptively quick, I agree with Rose on that one).

It would seem that we really are lacking pace in attack, especially if Son can't force his way into the team (and/or doesn't recover fully from his plantar fasciitis) and Rose didn't even think of him when asked that question on runners.
For all the excitement over Lamela this year, none of that is down to speed that leaves defenders for dead - but rather his creativity and footwork.

Fast players are often the 'bums off seats' breed. It can be frustrating to see counter attacks fall apart because we allow the opposition to get back into defence.

Football pace is radically different. Over 100m it's not about the person with the most acceleration.

Remember when we had Lennon and Bale, Walker reported that over 100m the fastest player at the club was Kaboul!

Right you are. So yeah, I suppose his answers will differ somewhat from speed with the ball.

However, I think the point remains that Kane, Janssen, Eriksen, Lamela, (in contrast to what Rose said) Alli - none of those starting attacking midfielders are particularly quick.

Nor are they oil-tanker-turning Fazio style slow, but it's a far cry from when we had Lennon and Bale on the wings.

Spurs were grouped with CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco in Thursday's draw and Pochettino, who is set to make a £15million bid for Zaha, said: “Yes, I would like a player like this.

“We have improved, because now we have two strikers [after signing Vincent Janssen to reduce demands on Harry Kane]. Now I think we need some players in the second line of offence to help the team compete better.

“We need more quality in the squad because it will be a very tough season with us with the Champions League and very tough competitions.”

Here's his player like this...
