From a Tottenham fan on FTL
There are charities that specialise in this sort of stuff. I know Cauldwell Children offers sensory packs for kids with ASD.
Instead of giving the rest of the money to a charity (which is a good idea too) maybe you should consider putting this money to side so that Chloe can use it at a later stage, as I'm sure there will be times when it will be needed. Just a thought.

Agreed I said the same, could be loads of important equipment out there that would help her down the road
BTW, who is Simmo?
Donated £50 :adebaehug:
My sister also has autism, relatively severe. She's 21, healthy, can articulate herself and is a truly loving and lovely person. However, she will never be able to go out on her own, probably never be able to work and will certainly never be independent. As you can imagine, it becomes more and more difficult as she gets older and for our ageing parents. She is now actually aware of her condition too and it's tough for her, being aware of how 'normal' life is for everybody else and not knowing why she isn't like that, getting to grips with that she won't ever be. Imagine that she is pretty lucky to be that aware compared to others and that's heartbreaking for her and them.
With so many sufferers having a wide spectrum of individual 'symptoms', it is such a challenge for them and their families to find as many breakthroughs as possible to help overcome many things that we all take for granted. Not sensing somebody's mood or feelings may just be socially awkward at one end of the scale but, having no concept of danger around you is a constant, sometimes life threatening hazard for others. From fairly mild lacks of social understanding through to full blown inability to even speak or truly engage with anybody or anything, aspects of autism are sometimes improvable but usually always incurable.
It's so hard to describe as a condition to others; my sister can read, write and understands so many things but, she is still very child-like in so many ways. It shouldn't be confused with other conditions that are termed to be on the autistic-spectrum, it isn't ADHD. The film Rain Man is a severe example but, if he's an 8 or 9 out of 10 for severity, even 3-4 is bad. I'd say my sister is 5 at best, 6 at worst and spent the ages of 1-10 at 7.
Sorry to bore you all but the point was, to all you offering to donate, you're doing a really good thing.
David, more than happy to donate and like others I would really rather you are able to keep the shirt.
Best wishes.
Simmo top lad. A superbly generous donation.
