In Theory , you are right. They are not the original bricks from Carls original design and this was one of 7 or 8 pieces (different shapes) The Tate only bought one shape (rectangle) for 25K. The original art works was given back to the brick merchant where they were bought so he could recoup his money. He then had to get more bricks to send over when the Tate showed interest.
