Seeing Dembele having a bit of a mare by his standards on Sunday, I really thought the scene was set for Lucky Lewis to make an appearance and at least offer a bit of link up play with Soldado. Holtby has done enough in the Europa and U21 games to at least be given a shot from the subs bench.

I don't think that Germans have the same 'conservative' attitude and timid hang-ups to naughty words!
You've seen German porn, right?
I have seen this lady and she is definitively conservative: Don't know if she likes porn though???:rolleyes:

Well Hitler was as far right as you can get, and look what happened there!

DEFINITELY no porn going on in those days!

Yes, but it's that odd blend of far lefty-right that boggles the mind.

Ultra-militant and nationalistic conservative socialism?

He probably sanctioned group orgies so long as all the men and women involved wore lederhosen with crotch cutouts.

Rumours doing the rounds that he is leaving in January.

Not sure how much of it is true, but I was surprised he didn't play any of the game against Woolwich. Seemed like the logical substitution at the time.

I'd say it's the consensus view that AVB got the substitutions dead wrong there. Introduce Holtby for Dembele, who had a poor game by anyone's standards, and we've got someone to knit together the attack exactly where it tended to fall apart against the Scum - in front of their penalty area.

As it happened, Capoue came off for Sandro through injury, Dembele for Defoe and Townsend off for Lamela. The latter two make little sense to me.

EDIT: I'd also say that it's incredibly unfair to sell Holtby this soon, and also potentially a real mistake. If we're looking to flip him just for profit then we could be letting a real talent go. I suspect that AVB just didn't get the subs right and that we'll see him soon - at least that's what I hope.

I would be very disappointed if Holtby was shipped out in Jan, he's not even completed a full year with us and we got him so cheap, he's not had the chance to prove himself. I think with us in the Europa League there are enough games to give him playing time. He was after all a starter for Schalke in the CL and he bossed it against the Goons.

Holtby wears his heart on his sleeve and is happy to get stuck in. If we're going to lose a midfielder, I think Siggy should be the first to go.

He's been injured, give the lad a chance. Don't think flipping him for a profit is the intention whatsoever.

If you've seen his interviews he seems 100% committed to succeeding here and he doesn't strike me as the type of fella to just say something for the sake of PR.

He's not leaving. There were rumors all summer. No doubt clubs will be interested, possibly Schalke included, but no chance that guy with that attitude and appreciation gives up that soon.

if he's really leaving this is not going to send a good signal about spurs.. so this is how we treat the young and good prospects?! "oh yeah you're damn right i didn't give you enough playing time. but you suck at the first 3 minutes you played. so i kinda assume you will still suck at the next 3000 minutes. off you go!" :avbfacepalm:

Definitely feel he should start (further up the pitch infront of Sandro & Paulinho/Dembele) on Saturday with Eriksen having to 'earn' his place in the 1st XI through smashing it in the cup games and effective sub perfomances

Agreed. I think were Eriksen to be given the start Saturday, it could be fairly damaging to Holtby's psyche. Would be a blatant message of lack in faith.

I'd love to see him given his first league tart anyway. He'd be buzzin like a fiend out on the pitch.

Damn I really hope he starts playing, even in the PL.He is a great player,he should be used more often.I'm afraid that if he doesn't get enough play time he will want to go to another club. :defoe:(Yeah I know he was injured and out of form, but still..)
Hope he starts playing, and hope he gets a lot of playing time in the PL but also in the cups.
