His crazy asking price

For every one of you, there's a guy calling talk sport to slate Harry Kane, or boo a poor pass. The melts have drowned the reasonable fans out at the moment. Did you see what happened to Kyle Naughton's birthday tweet today?

That's who the club sees as the fanbase at the moment. Until we can change that impression, we won't see the club reach out.
Talksport want controversy. They're not going to put Mr Happy Clappy on the line when they're running a piece on the demise of Spurs.

Twitter is inevitably full of nob'eds that feel the need to comment absolute shit at every opportunity. Every club and every player on there takes abuse. It's a major problem that is being tackled on a national scale. It's not just Spurs fans.

As it's a very depressing time to be a Spurs fan, let's all bring our comedy genius into one thread and come up with reasons why Levy is ruining the club.

1) He has 'no-hair-syndrome'. (Like small-man-syndrome, but no hair).
2) He's jealous of the Park Lane/Shelf Side because he has to sit on the West Stand.
3) He left early for the 4-4 at The Emirates and is bitter he didn't get on the pitch.
4) He looks like an egg wearing glasses.
5) He hates the fact he looks like he should be helping women pick out scarves at Selfridges.

What do you lot reckon?
6) He plays FIFA on semi-pro and thinks it's easy for Spurs to win the league.

Makes a lot more sense why we go through so many managers

Daniel Levy's massive restructuring programme at Tottenham has started with an attempt to bring in Southampton’s head of recruitment Paul Mitchell.

The Spurs chairman, furious with the team’s attitude in the club’s 2-1 defeat by Stoke at White Hart Lane on Sunday, has made it known there will be major changes of personnel in the coming weeks.

Mauricio Pochettino worked with Mitchell, very much man of the moment after his remarkable success recruiting players for Southampton, at St Mary’s last season.

Steffan Freund was a coach at Spurs but became sidelined at the start of his second season

Pochettino, who admitted he was under massive pressure to change the culture at the club after Sunday’s defeat, is in favour of the move for Mitchell.

The Southampton manager worked with him at St Mary’s last season and has made it known to Levy that he trusts Mitchell’s judgement of players.

Mitchell is very much the eyes and ears at Southampton and he is largely credited behind the scenes at the club for their hugely successful recruitment policy.

Southampton are second in the Barclays Premier League after an extraordinary start to the season under new coach Ronald Koeman.

They will fight to keep Mitchell, a former professional player with Wigan and MK Dons, on the south coast despite Tottenham’s advances.

Mitchell, 33, travels the world for Southampton and is credited with the majority of incoming transfers since his arrival at the club two years ago.

Levy is determined to shake up Tottenham’s backroom team and has already started to make changes following the club’s poor start to the season.

Former Spurs midfielder Steffen Freund has now been shifted to his third position at White Hart Lane in less than a year.

Freund, who was headhunted from a good job at the German football federation, was a coach under Andre Villas-Boas, but was sidelined at the start of his second season at Spurs.

He was eventually given another coaching role, but is now in the position of club ambassador after Pochettino made it known he wanted to work with his own coaching staff.

Freund was sent to China two weeks ago as part of a marketing exercise and has only just returned to London.

Don't really know what to think of this

Paul Mitchell has worked at Southampton for 2 years?!
I thought Koeman had a list of players he wanted?
Probably a bit of both... I don't think Mitchell suggesting signings will be a downgrade from Baldini and whatever the hell he does.

We need to be on top of our scouting. Whether Mitchell or Koeman masterminded it, Pelle has been great so far for Southampton.

But he will only be for a couple of years, and then they'll likely lose money trying to sell him. He's very much a short term choice.

Nothing wrong with that, but don't forget the parts of the story the narrative ignores.

Very true.

I don't always agree with a manager bringing in the staff they want... I think it can cause a lot of problems. I think since we've done that to a great degree already for Poch that we may as well invest in this guy if Poch really thinks he's going to be integral to the success of the team going forward, even if only over the next 12-24 months.

The fact that Stromboli and Fazio have hardly played, can that be considered a silent protest by Poch.
Possibly...but a very dangerous game for a new manager to play with a chairman known for his itchy trigger finger. More likely he is trying to integrate players he didn't ask for into roles he knows he needs filling whilst using existing "premiership experience" to fill the gap. I use that phrase very loosely. I'd love to be a fly on the wall inside Spurs for a day to find out exactly what the hell is going on.

Why would anyone at Southampton want to come to the sinking ship that is Spurs?

They could end up top 4 this season whilst we have NO CHANCE. Repeat, NO CHANCE.

They could kick on from there too. After all, what more of a textbook example do you need?

Lallana, Lambert, Lovren, Chambers, Shaw and Pochettino left and Saints are ahead of all the teams they joined. Part of me hopes they go all the way and then it would be a big middle finger to the established order, the moneybags, the FA, the celebrities, the need to spend big, the modern greedy player, the meddling, Levy, it will be a great win for football.

Sure, they'll get destroyed in Europe and whatever, but it would be nice to see a well-run, non-interference club do well by its own accord not because of stupid money and meddling chairmen.
