You'd think CFC's injury list would be longer? Especially with groin injuries.

Or we can conclude that Terry doesn't fancy women because he never went to ground often, and the whole Bridge fiance fiasco was just a cover up.

"Overwhelming evidence" n all that of course...

It's true, to point to the injury tables as rationale to either fully declare the physio team is incompetent, or entirely competent or adequate, is poor logic indeed.
Agreed. It's interesting that we're in third when it comes to days lost to injuries over a four year period though. Means it's not just a "feeling" among the fans. But of course, the reasons for this can be many. Bad luck, fragile players, less determined players, slightly less competent medical team than the other teams, etc etc..

"Evidence" is just one of those words that is screaming out to have "overwhelming" in front of it. Don't trust words, they'll trip you up. Hysterical opinion is far more reliable.

Some highlights:

Research by the website physioroom.com has shown that Woolwich were without first-team players for a combined 1,716 days during this past season, almost 300 more than Tottenham who had the next worse injury record. By contrast, Chelsea were without key players for just 556 days this season, while champions Manchester City and runners-upLiverpool endured a similar injury toll of respectively 978 and 997 days lost.

Over the four year period, the club who have lost players for the most days to injury is actually Newcastle United on 5,645, followed by Woolwich on 5,492 and Tottenham on 5,330.

So we were actually second, not first...and 4th to 5th place teams are quite similar in minutes lost.

My point in all this has been that our injuries are not abnormal.

If we stood head and shoulders above all other teams, Id understand pointing a finger at the physio. But not when we are normal compared to other clubs..

Last season we were 9th, but the year before top.

How are people blaming the physios outright is beyond me..

Wenger promised a review in March “to see if there is a link between all these injuries”. Asked whether he would review his training and medical procedures, Wenger said "everything" but admitted that, on first inspection, it had been difficult to find an obvious reason.
There are numerous theories, such as the training methods, a style of football that might invite dangerous tackles, an over-reliance on certain players because of the size of the squad, a transfer policy that might favour technically gifted but more fragile players or simply bad luck.

Quite a different approach to saying "our medics are shit"

The other factor in all of this is what kind of football you're playing and what that means your opponents will have to do. If you play expansive, beautiful tiki taka, you are inviting dubious and late challenges regularly. That adds to the likelihood of being injured in the first place which contributes to the tables cited previously.

Not disagreeing with you..but any idea what barcas injury stats are like? Or how many tackles were attempted against woolwich?
I think you will find most injuries occur when players change direction quickly especially when running..wingers and strikers seem to be the most often injured.
