Next thing he knows, he's woken up in a shack in Uganda, tied to a chair with Wenger furiously pacing the floor in front of him.
You have no idea how much I want to photoshop a scene from Casino Royale now...

He has four games and on current form he will score more than 4 goals, I really think he's going to hit that 30 mark. He only started scoring a couple months in again, he's a goal machine.
As far as I can see, if he hits 30, that has only been beaten by 3 players in epl history (current format). So that would be a performance beaten only about once per decade. It's certainly possible. These are happy times indeed

Harry Kane is now 31st on the Total Spurs goalscoring list with 63 club goals. With his two goals last night he climbed past Les Allen and Chris Armstrong. Six goals beneath the top 30 at Spurs now, Eddie Baily has that position.

Not for long though.

Run out of accolades to throw at Harry. We have had some truly great strikers over the years but in my lifetime none are as complete a player as Harry.

Also shout out to Lamela, he could have easily gone for goal for our third yesterday but unselfishly squared to Kane.
I know he's winding a few up over Leicester but I have to say Lineker was a joy to watch. One of the quickest players on and off the ball and crazy good at reading the game. He had people who knocked him for being a "goal hanger" but that was bollocks. He was always in the right place at the right time because he was fuckin good.

Is Harry better? I think he's a better finisher and in time will develop the instinct Lineker had. So in the long run, I think Harry will surpass GL - no mean feat.

No doubt high praise indeed. I loved Lineker and really my first memories of Spurs are with Lineker, Gazza and the FA Cup winning lot. Harry's work rate is far better as well, can't remember many star strikers sprinting back to close down opponents by penalty area. I truly believe his work ethic rubs off on the rest of the squad.

I definitely think people have taken Kane for granted this season and maybe its natural instinct to do so , after last season
But the guy has scored 27 goals in only his second full season, though you could actually argue this is his first full season , and despite how brilliant Toby and pretty much the whole squad have been this year , I really don't see how anyone other than him can be our player of the season

Toby has been near enough perfect though. Goals, assists and and most importantly unbelievable defensive performances in virtually every game.

Kane gets a 9/10 for this season, and in the vast majority of seasons he'd be player of the year, but it just so happens that Toby has been 9.5/10.

1882's response to you is spot on. Alderweireld has been absolutely sensational and the heart of our 'best defence in the league' so I really don't see how anyone other than him can be our player of the season. :)

My argument against that is without Toby we may not have been as good but close with Wimmer /Vertonghen. Whereas if you took Harry out of our team we really have nobody who can replicate what he does for us.

It really is a tough argument and I am not minimizing what Toby has done this year but Kane truly is our star talisman.

I could make arguments for Toby, Alli and Rose as well for player of the season all have been spectacular but Kane just pips it for me.

Good arguments all round, and what a pleasure that there are so many genuine contenders for POTY. I agree that Harry is irreplaceable (we don't really have another proper number 9, so of course losing him would have the greatest impact).

But for my money Toby, and the defence (including big Eric) have been what has transformed this Spurs team). If you'd told me we would be the league's leading goal scorers, with Kane the front runner for top scorer I would have been surprised.

But if you told me at the start of the season that we would have the leagues meanest defence (by some margin) I would have properly dropped my bacon sandwich and called you a lunatic. Spurs just don't do defending, right?

For that reason alone, Toby gets my vote, although if Harry, Moussa or even people's favourite Erik get it I will applaud them all!

How was your holiday Mrs P?
Lovely, thanks Joe. Mum really enjoyed the cruise and hasn't stopped talking about it. We went to Bracianno, Monaco, Avignon and Cagliari. However, I've come home with a stinking cold, but that's not going to stop me going to the game tomorrow :). Hope you're OK
