That's true, and it's good to see. But for me the key thing is it seems we are modifying the high line to suit Vorm, and I think that is the way forward. I don't think Hugo, when he's fit again, would insist on returning to the previous tactics, having seen so many goals fly past him this season.

Of course if he did, but Poch has seen the error of his high line, then things might get problematic.

I'm very much looking forward to the Soton game, whoever is in goal to see what we do there. Soton have some nippy players who could easily punish our old style 'Maginot Line' approach, there may well be a fascinating battle ahead.

This is becoming beyond parody now.

The usage of that metaphor would seem to heap unwarranted praise on our central defenders and lay the fault entirely on our fullbacks.

Which is to say that I don't think that you've ever either watched our defense this season, or actually read about the Maginot Line, a series of defensive fortifications that proved so difficult to assault that the Germans went out of their way to avoid them entirely.

I know, some people care enough to have arguments on forums. To the point of getting sin binned.....

You've also received 438 disagrees you clueless old prick. Why don't you leave the football to the fucking manager and staff that know what they're doing. In future just automatically presume your opinion is wrong and then keep it to your fucking self.

Yet you are no better. Just another farcical cunt pretending to be chilling out here with no real issues...and when it all comes on top, instead of just not posting, you will ask Case to close your account so everyone can see.

Cute. But I'm here forever baby.
Not sure what you're getting at with the quotes either. Kim Jong-Greaves is a clueless old codger. Don't think thats news to anyone.
Now what exactly is the farce? And what do you mean "when it all comes on top"
You obviously haven't noticed because you're too bust posting but i go days at a time without coming on here, it might have escaped your notice but... this is just a fucking website. The fact you take it so seriously says to me that somethings lacking elsewhere in your life. We know its not the ladies front because of the 300 swedish girls so i wonder what it is. Who knows. Have you tried meditation? Seek enlightenment my brother. The media's just a tool for the government to control us. And besides, Jet fuel can't melt steel!

Anthony. Youve gone apeshit over what i posted. My point is that the tactics shld change for whom we are fielding, and whom the oppo is. The high line will be the reason we win games, and the reason we lose games. You also need to remember we hav no recognised cdm starting regularly. NB is a fantadtic player but aint a holder by trade. Im easy watching spurs, but this approach will bring success and shambles in good measure.

Also, (and no im not trying to be smart)..... Poch wldnt be the first manager to impose a philosophy on a squad whom it didnt fit. Eriksen, chadli, andros and to an extent mason, let runners go and allow oppo past them too easy. Their defensive frailties wld be less exposed if they were behind the ball. This is why we get thumped by the big clubs away from whl. We never shut up shop. Wen was the last time we won a dour point against a top side and looked like they cld play all day and not score? Its like we wanna impress the neutrals. Chelsea get credit for 'being a mare to play against' yet we employ pressing tactics, with cbs slower than their strikers, with naive wingers, no specialist holder but poch must know best? Does that mean that if we eek out a boring 0-0 v chelsea away nxt yr i was still wrong or is it just my opinion?

Well said AP, it's not just our back 4 that have made Poch's high line such a comedy fiasco this season. As you say the problem lies with the whole team and set up.

That's why I so hope we are now seeing a revision of tactics from Poch, and a tacit admission he has got it so wrong over this.

I think Vorm is very fortunate that he is an understudy to Hugo and that is why he signed with us!

Well this leads me to believe you haven't watched us play because I've definitely seen us play differently at times this season. Most notably away at the emirates.

Mate anyone who argues against you by saying "the manager is paid millions of pounds so he is always right" is not worth the effort.

What they are doing discussing football at all leaves me baffled.

They must think that the supporters had no right to question Christian Gross and Ramos if thats their stance. Its a pathetic cop out to be honest.

No, playing against Burnley, Villa, and crisis Newcastle improves our defending
Yep, I've already alluded to the quality of the oppo we've faced. However in the mirror fixtures v these three we conceded four goals, that's twice as many with Hugo and the High Line (snappy name dontcha think, unfortunately not such a snappy offside trap.

Two of those three games were at home where we concede marginally less.

Assuming we continue our modified high line v Soton that will give us a better idea of its effectiveness, as they should present our toughest yet of the new regime.

Ledley and the Kings should change their name to Hugo and the High Line in time for our Europa League final next year
