I'd disagree. Townsend was terrible on thursday, Lamela is a fit lad and I don't see him struggling with playing 3 games in 7 days. He's on good form, benching him will just ruin that momentum.

Hmmm, maybe it is time to throw N'Jie on, particularly if Mertersaker is playing.
I think our thin squad will have epic burnout if we play a lot of games in the domestic cups so i wouldn't be that bothered if we took an early bath from the league cup but if we go out to those fuckers i will be devastated.

The league cup is the easiest to win... I am sure we only have to play 6 games to win it?
if we do lose then i guess the 1 positive is we go out straight away. may as well go out early if we arent going to get to the final.

i think id use the europa more to rest key players. especially away games.

i guess theres a middle ground of just rotating 2 or 3 of the weaker players for both games.

At the end they will pop their heads around the exit gates just to make sure the Police have their escort in place, then they will leave and walk back down the High Road looking at the ground because they have just been spanked.
