They play a 4-2-3-1. Brilliant player in the middle of the park called Aranguiz who likes to win the ball back and pass, though he's creative himself. He's usually partnered with Bender but he's out injured so Kampl has been playing there, pretty sure Kampl used to play on the wing so it's quite the transition for him.

They have real creativity and pace in attack though with the likes of Brandt, Calahanoglu, Volland and of course Chicharito gives them that firepower, he'll be a big threat to our defence through his movement alone.

But they have a young team, much like us. The average age of their defence is 22 years old. Their goalkeeper is only 24 years old too, one of the best in Europe.
German visitor here. Their preferred formation is 4-2-2-2, unless there is no 2nd striker available (in that case, it's the 4-2-3-1 mentioned). Kampl is usually a starter on the 6 together with Aranguiz, unless one of them is not fit or rested. Sometimes he plays as a wide 10, but not as a genuine winger (they tried that at Dortmund with him but it ended up a failure). Bender is injured most of the time anyway, he's rotated in and out if he's fit and one of the other two are rested. Sometimes he plays in defense. Biggest problem is Bellarabi missing. Volland has not yet fully settled into the team and Brandt has been overplayed and a bit out of form recently.

No idea what to expect from them, as they are quite the Jekyll&Hyde team. One thing is sure, they are not a bus parking team.

We were a bit sloppy but played against a good Leverkusen side. Some people act on here like we have a God given right to win games. It was a solid and fair draw away from home against a very equally matched side.

I'll take it any day of the week (except for Thursday's though)

Jesus now drawing away in Germany in the champions league gets people upset

I remember cheering like crazy in the Paxton when we pulled it back to 3-2 down at the lane against Charlton when robbo was pounding the ball into the box like a quarterback searching for that equalizer and failing

Enjoy it! A great away draw, and we will do what's needed to go through
