Can we talk about how much of a liability Emerson is?
We've made them looked far better than they are. They are just playing with intensity that we're struggling to match at the moment.
Good start to the game - then Villa ran themselves into the ground, I expect us to hit them for a few on the break in the second half.
Ref has not helped at all - some of those villa tackles edging on criminal actions (Mings throat push etc) whilst Villa get free kicks by insta-hitting the deck everytime they go near Cuti.

We can but hope....
No doubt, we've been very poor at dealing with their intensity. No real surprise as whilst we have fantastic momentum a lot of these players aren't as good as people think, and are panicking in a game where the opposition aren't giving them time or space to operate.
But it's still unfortunate to face them when they've had a public bollocking from the manager, this isn't Villa most weeks.
I think if he's booked today he misses one. And if he gets another the match after, it's 2.

yeah, but apparently if enough people dislike what you say you can get banned. Not sure this place actually has rules.
He has no one to pass to. He's having to hold on to the ball too much. It shows how much Doherty actually has improved. He is always an option for Kulu and Kane. That how we been getting up the field. Emerson just doesn't have it.
What is new here?
I'd be massively disappointed if we don't come out with a better showing this half. It should be motivating for us to have withstood that and demoralising for Villa to know they should be ahead. If we can't bounce back after that it's pretty dismal.
Has anyone said he’s world class? Haven’t seen it once. What I have seen is people say he’s been our best CM since he arrived and was really only poor the United game
Emerson has been absolutely crap, I’ve said it so many times but he cannot play football at this level. He makes the basics look so difficult, he can’t even run with the ball or pass sideways with any accuracy. Isn’t brave enough to get forward and put himself about like Doherty either.
Please god let Doherty’s knee be alright, if we have to play with Emerson for the rest of the season we are going to be in difficulty.
