I know nothing has been decided yet, but rather than wait until the summer I'm going to get in early and say " fuck you van gaal you motherfucker, I hope giggsy takes your daughter to the cleaners"

To be honest I just dont think we can attract one. I mentioned in another thread - we probably need to apply to managers the model we apply to players. Get in those from the next tier down that look destined to one day be world class...

We have little chance of attracting a top manager as well as keeping top players.
They go hand in glove. If a manager shows promise , he will only leave when a offer
of a club that can match his ambition comes in . No different from the players .
The Southampton manager is the calibre we must expect but if you were him why come to
us, top 4 is impossible . Utd will be back in the mix next season with a huge spend,
Liverpool will keep their star world beater and add quality . The Viagra clubs are on another planet.
We've missed the boat .

Who fancied Liverpool for the title this past summer?
A lot can change. Compared to Southampton we have much greater resources and facilities, it would be a step up IMO.

And from a managers personal point of view could be the stepping stone en route to a top tier side.

Liverpool kept their star players when we don,t but still an unbelievable achievement considering the
present climate. A step up yes but with no chance of success if top 4 is the Holy Grail.

My two-cents:

Van Gaal is gone.

De Boer: good option, may keep hold of Vertonghen, and will build the team around Eriksen. No Prem experience though.

Poch: also fine, but when AVB was sacked and he was linked, didn't he make some pointed comments about how he couldn't work with a Director of Football, essentially slating Spurs' model as he did?

That said, I'd take Lallana; but Shaw is going to United or Chelsea I reckon…

Moyes: only 5/1, same as Poch, so don't rule it out. Was the highest favourite before AVB came in with his Powerpoint. But now he, like AVB, is a Big Club failure who we'd be 'giving another chance cos we can see his true talent', so I'm sceptical at best.

Benitez: isn't he a bit dull, no attacking football and all? But he's clearly a talented bloke.

I summary, Benitez is the best name linked, but in real terms, Pochettino probably swings it for his Prem experience and maybe bringing in Lalana. It's close, though.

Benitez' Prem experience dwarves Poch's. Lallana would be a nice package, but that's never guaranteed. Honestly, I'd take Benitez and whoever he's bring in for LW over Poch and Lallana.

LvG is a lunatic and a crazy bastard - but his team plays good football and he promotes academy players. If United get him, he'll lay a solid foundation for an upcoming manager I'm sure, as It's obvious this isn't going to be a long term appointment. He certainly isn't my first choice, but beggars can't be choosers - Even Tim Sherwood I'm sure would be better than Moyes.
