What would you pay for Saido (if anything)?

He was refused a move, simple as that. Imagine being stuck in a job you weren't enjoying when you could have potentially moved to a better looking job in the summer, earned a lot more money and had a lot more success? and was then told you simply ain't moving and are going to stay somewhere you don't want to be?

As far as I am aware, he hasn't come out and refused to play? Correct me if I am wrong though. He has still made himself available, going by his twitter and other social media he is still working very hard and keeping himself fit so if we do end up signing him he won't be out of shape of unfit and he should be ready to slot right in.

I don't think he's a bad egg. I think it's all a myth the whole "bad attitude" thing - sure what he said on twitter was perhaps unprofessional but I don't think he has a bad attitude. It's not got to the stage where Pulis has headbutted him whilst naked in the showers.

I think he'd be a welcome signing. He is quick, a very good finisher, can play up top on his own and can also play outwide. Also knows players at the club from playing in the U21s so would be a welcome fit in my opinion.

100% yes I would want berahino. Would be an absolute perfect signing. He's young, quick, talented and currently the best realistic striker option available. Pochettino will bring out the best in this guy I tell you now and he will flourish under his training methods.

Berahino clearly dosen't want to be at westbrom and can you blame him? A club going no where and with a manager that constantly throws him under the bus? I have lost count the amount of times Pulis has come out in interviews expressing his anger at berahino. If you have a problem then deal with it internally. We never heard pochettino come out blasting Adebayor etc personally did we? The quicker we release berahino from the hell hole that is westbrom the better.

Our targets toward the end of the summer window seem to have been Berahino and Wanyama - if we can get both of them in January we'll be very good.
You'd still take Wanyama? I'd rather leave that position for our current crop to fill. I personally don't think he'd add much quality in ratio to his cost.

Don't get me wrong I like Bentaleb, he's clearly talented. However I still think if we can quickly fill the two key positions we'll really be pushing to heights not seen since the 87 team.

We'll need to agree to disagree then. I'll be a bit angry if we go and waste any money on a DM this window. We could do with another option up front, but if we bring someone else in and limit Bentalebs game time even more, then we have just ruined a youth product. If I wanted to support a team that makes a habit of ruining talent I'd support Chavski. We need to be giving our young players a chance as our back ups, otherwise they get no chances and our academy is pointless. Poch is doing it right, he's open to signing players that will improve our starting 11 while preferring our back ups come from within.

I understand West Brom fan's anger towards us and Berahino. It has happened to us enough. However one thing on their forum they mention is that he has gained a lot of weight. Not sure if January is the best time to buy him. Although might be cheaper due to his fitness. Personally i think there are better options all over Europe.

Please Levy bring in Embolo

Embolo killed millions of Africans, and we don't want it over here.

Nor was Dier 6 months ago. Surely one of them at least (I would say Bentaleb is better suited) can be molded into a DM?

It's the only role he's really played in a Spurs shirt since his debut 12 months ago...
I think we dropped really lucky with Dier. He's played in 3 positions for us & hasn't looked out of place in any of them. The fact he is excelling sitting in front of the back four is testament to what a great talent he is. I'm not so sure that every player is as adaptable as Eric. The "utility" player was historically a cursed role with the player having to play second fiddle in a number of different positions- the jack of all trades role. Dier has learned (or was just a born natural) the DM role with alarming ease.

It's been made slightly easier for him because Jan & Toby have been excellent, but that shouldn't take any credit away from Eric. It's a pretty special player IMO who takes to a new position in the EPL, like a duck to water & ends up getting into the national team in that position within a couple of months.

We shouldn't be surprised if others can't adapt as quickly or take a long time to learn the role

I think we should definitely sign him. Everyone said they'd be concerned about him not wanting to sit on the bench, but he's proved us all wrong on that one. Who cares if he's only scored 3 goals? His bench sitting capabilities have been proved to any casual watcher of the game. And our bench is clearly a lot more comfortable than WBA's.

I'm not sure we've done anything wrong. We put in reasonable bids for him. We wanted him, he wanted to sign for us but the owner of the club he's at has kept him against his wishes and that was never going to go down well
If I remember correctly Berahino and his agents were heavily hinting the chairman had promised if a certain bid came in he could leave. That bid did come in and chairman said no. Understand his frustration but obviously don't agree with publicly mugging off the club.

In what way?

It was just something about his demeanor that just rubbed me the wrong way. Probably frustrated with the game, but I found his constant complaining about nearly every call against Watford a tad annoying...just get on with game. His little jab at Carroll's face was a bit much as well, borderline red in my opinion.

With that said, he's probably the only striker so far this season to seriously give our back line a hard time. I love his physical precense and talent for finding the back of the net, I'm just not convinced on his attitude.

I like the idea of Berahino. Just as Toby and Jan's time as Belgian teammates has resulted in a special partnership, I could see Kane and Berahino developing a great understanding. May be wishful thinking, but I think Harry could bring the best out of him.

Completely agree. I'd like to think Kane could be a positive force on Berahino and with Poch's training and Kane's influence, I'd be interested in seeing what we could get out of it.

I just think anything over £15m is too much.

Definitely. So many of the PL games come down to an outright scrap in the middle of the pitch, that's why Dembele and Dier have become virtually indispensable.

Wanyama would offer cover for both of them and also for the centre backs, as Dier would be able to be moved back.

I think we have enough centre mids as it is, personally. Bentaleb and Mason already have a fight on their hands to get back in the starting XI, as well as Carroll now pushing for a spot.

I don't see Southampton doing business with us personally. Even less likely than West Brom!!
