But 5 years of humiliation and misery is a bit of a steep price tag for some change.I'm horrifically depressed but at the same time a bit pleased. This entire national side needs some serious soul searching to figure out the root of our problems. If we got in tonight it would have papered over the gigantic cracks.
I'm a bit at a loss for words
It isn't like the last 5 years have been good either. I wouldn't call it humiliation or misery necessarily. Maybe something like purgatory? But 5 years of humiliation and misery is a bit of a steep price tag for some change.
Gold Cups and losses to Mexico are one thing, and 3 years ago we beat Ghana, outplayed Portugal, and took Belgium to ET in the knockouts. Granted the current team would have been quickly bounced in the group stages but we would have had the better part of a year to try and right the ship. It will hit home when the WC starts and we aren't even there for the first time in 32 years. It isn't like the last 5 years have been good either. I wouldn't call it humiliation or misery necessarily.
