Maybe Moses is the perfect black box signing. Relatively young, shown potential in the past and cheap and Poch sees him fitting into his system nicely.

Tbh I'm not completely convinced myself but would be willing to give him a chance if we do sign him.
 
If we're looking at wide attacking players, Volland is likely better than Moses, but more expensive. I'd rather go with Volland, but I get the logic with Moses. I think we need the CM first, but we do need an extra wide attacking player who can also double as a forward. We may be looking at that more than pure strikers, just because Pochettino seems to want guys more versatile than one-player specialists.

I think they like Moses because his tackles and interceptions are really high for a wide forward, like Lamela. They probably want more players who will handle the workload as well as create.

I think he is at a similar level to Townsend but below the others.

The main area for improvement is to get Lamela scoring more goals and for Eriksen to create more assists.

Assists are dependent on the person on the receiving end. Look at the number of key passes, not assists. Eriksen makes a lot of key passes that our other players piss away.

Behind Chadli we have Eriksen and Pritchard that can play as one of the front 3. Why sign someone else that isnt better than Chadli?
Can't see us selling Soldado and Ade. If we do then I agree we need two strikers and a defensive mid, but that will be a big ask and dont be surprised if we dont manage it. I'd prefer to have a go with Kane plus one rather than sign someone shit that we have stuck on the books.
I rate Lamela, doubt we will find anyone better

No. If that were true Kane would be off to United. We develop players who then want to leave. We didn't try to sell Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale etc they all wanted to go. Barca et al are the pinnacle of the game, of course no one wants to leave those clubs if they have a chance of playing, whereas players who are the first name on our team sheet still want better.

At our level at the moment we can't attract the obviously top calibre players because they want Champions League football. We are left with average players, mercenaries or young potential to sign, of which the third would seem the most likely - with our current staff - to help elevate us into the arena where we can attract the big names.

Have some faith man, maybe take a day off from being so overly negative. You never know you might like it.
 
I agree Sushi, but it's so obvious that assist statistics depend on the quality of other players that I did not feel the need to mention it. All the stats are in the link for anyone to look at.

I still think Eriksen should be creating more assists and I don't blame just him. Lamela and Townsend need to get forward more and into the box, so they can link up for scoring chances with Eriksen or any other Spurs player.
