Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You'll have to pardon me for not reading through this thread, but after only an hour's kip since yesterday morning, I've just got enough energy to post this.
The game was not very good. Hugo made two excellent saves. Can't understand why Antonio doesn't make better use of the bench when things aren't going well and we've got a game on Saturday. We were settling for a draw and it blew up in our faces.
Only highlights were meeting deadleyledley and his friend and Mr & Mrs 1chriswaddle , there's some lovely people on this forum, thanks to them that this trip wasn't a total disaster. Also saw Sandro on the way in, managed to get a picture with him.
I've just devoured a HUGE bag of crisps to the point I'm feeling a bit sick and now going to get some shut-eye. Hope I wake up before I need to check out.
I'd like to think that it'll look better in the morning.......but doubt it!

So, ahead of tomorrow's game.
(I'm obviously a Sporting supporter and the Spurs are the second team I cheer for, since 2006)

Sporting's defense is not in its best shape. Some important players are out (as St Juste - the only CB who could really do something about Son's speed), Inácio hasn't been playing great (the on ball CB) and there's a clear flaw in the LB position (after Mendes left for PSG)
The team's best player wasn't Matheus Nunes - far from it. The best player is Pedro Gonçalves, the Left Winger (he zones out a lot during the matches, but is ultra clinic in front of goal)
The battle of the midfield will, obviously, dictate the flow of the match. Hojbjerg and Bentancur are a far more agressive pair than Sporting's duo (Morita and Ugarte - even though Ugarte is an absolute monster when it comes to jump on pressure).
The Spurs way of sitting behind and counter will do its regular damage, I'm sure of it. Sporting is trying to play more with the ball, with higher lines but that's also how Spurs like other teams to play.
A nice battle ahead, with two coaches who play a 3-4-3 formation and with similar ideas (although the players level on the Spurs' side is a step or two above, obviously)

(That benfica lisbon chap here spitting nonsense and lies is nothing but a small individual. Let me tell you I can't really get a grip on why to spread such hatred on a forum of some team their rivals are playing against. Sporting (and the fans) have absolutely nothing to pick on the Spurs. )

The morning after the night before……. I am not going to dwell on the performance and result.
Lisbon is an amazing city which my wife and I have really enjoyed exploring. The atmosphere pre game in Rossio Square was fantastic, the journey to the game was stress free and it’s another stadium to add to our list. But by far the best thing was meeting up with our fellow forum members deadlyledley (and his mate) and MrsP- being able to share the experience with such warm, genuine, lovely people (who share our passion and dedication for our wonderful club) was absolutely wonderful.Victories and defeats come and go and there will be plenty more of both but it is the fans who are the fabric and heartbeat of the club and both deadlyledley and MrsP are shining examples of the very best of us.
Roll on Leicester…. COYS!!!!!

When I was in the travel agent booking my flights, the guy next to me got quoted roughly the same amount to fly to Australia!!! Not even joking! Turns out he was a Spurs supporter and he was going to try to get to the Liverpool game before he flew back.
I was a bit apprehensive about going on my own as the girl I usually travel with can't make it, otherwise would have made a mini break. Also this will be my first time at an airport and going abroad since lockdown. Looking forward to meeting up with deadleyledley and anyone else who is going along.
COYS

Hurricane hitting Lisbon tomorrow?

Just spent nearly a tenner on a sandwich, blueberry muffin (not as good as mine) and a cuppa, to pass the time. It wasn't that long ago I could get a decent hot meal for that. Checkin not for another half an hour and flight not until 6. Really tired but can't afford to drop off, will be gutted if I miss my flight. I'll sleep on the plane :)

Draw a line under this one. But we need to start using the squad. Same old faces is going to cost us. Whoever takes a rest is up to Conte but we can’t be looking tired and losing games like tonight in injury time. Utilise the bloody squad. There are players with a point to prove. Give them a chance while it’s still a game to win/save.

Got back today after a great trip to a lovely city. Sadly saw some of our younger fans abusing bar staff in the square, and stewards at the ground
Have to say that after all the time, effort and not inconsiderable cost, that performance was totally unacceptable.
This sort of dross was supposed to be a thing of the past, too many poor individual performances against an inferior side. It would appear that we are not entirely free of our bottling reputation. or as my old school reports used to say, 'Could do better.'

No it doesn't, it says right there that the chance of us winning is 48% vs only 26% for Sporting and 26% for a draw. So they think a Spurs win is almost twice as likely as either of the other options and the chance we avoid defeat is 74%.

Reminds me of an old boss I had. Tried to convince me that’s it better to have 1 x loan @60% APR than 5 credit cards @25% APR.

As the 5 credit cards totalled 125%.

Went blue in the face telling him that’s not how APR works.

I got the email saying it was a technical issue before I saw the 'postponement' on the site, saved me a lot of ranting and raving!
I've got my trusty Spurs poncho at the ready, as brollies not allowed in the stadium.
Hope to see some TFCers out and about in Lisbon or at the stadium.
Safe travels everyone and enjoy the game x
