Bertrand ahead of Rose LB?

LMFAO

Still Terry nearly managed joined up writing and his team wasn't all white
:harryhmm:

As soon as you wrote Bertrand, my mind jumped the same way as your's. I strongly suspect that he released the picture on Twitter to show, how many non-whites he voted. But then, I'll always suspect the worst possible from the prick :dembelefingers:

ArcspacE ArcspacE we can't just say Ozil is shit because we want him to, that's the kind of attitude which makes mugs turn to religion out of fear of their own mortality.
I don't think he's shit - I simply believe Alli's impact has been far great, imv in the context of either team and the fact he's had prior to this season 0 experience at the top. Ozil has been around for eons and played at the highest stages

Not to mention that mong threw in the towel few weeks back and criticised the manager / his teammates - only for Whinger to openly contradict him afterwards and try save face. Shambles.

Tbf the same can be said about Kane. In the first part of the season (~7-10 games) he was quite horrible. He had a dip in form later in the season as well.

All in all though, he's been good enough for a nomination. But so has Ozil.

A shame though, that any of the two are nominated when Alder or Dembele are not. They've been consistantly a class or two better than anything they've been up against.
Sorry but that just isn't in any way true. Kane may have had periods of not scoring, but he during those spells he was winning consistent praise for his broader team play and work rate. He's been immense all season. He just keeps going, whether things are dropping for him or not. His attitude, confidence, positivity, drive and determination are so very impressive. He has not had any periods of being in any way 'horrible'.

I don't think there's any way you can't include Vardy in the first X1 tbh.

-----------------------------------De Gea------------------------------
-------------Alderweireld-------Morgan--------Smalling-----
-------------------------------Kante----Alli----------------------------
-------Mahrez--------------------Ozil----------------------Payet---
------------------------------Kane-----Vardy---------------------------

I think that's the fairest X1. Bellerin and Rose have been excellent but neither have been more consistent than Smalling imo. The only other iffy one is maybe Dembele or Dier could be in there ahead of Alli? to me Alli gets in due to the amount of goals and it being his break out season.
These exercises are always ridiculous.
To get Vardy in the team you have invented a formation that no team I have ever seen plays ... unless you are going to claim that Mahrez and Payet are wing-backs.
Most teams play 4231 at the moment, which means 1 up top. That means choosing either Kane or Vardy, and that is a no brainer.

Using both my own eyes and stats, VVD has been a stand out this season. I get the references to “hoof merchant” but I’d suggest he just knows when to clear his lines.

I also read recently that he’s yet to be dribbled past this season. He’s won every one on one he’s had to face. That’s just amazing. Shows not only his tackling expertise but his positional awareness too.

POTY by a country mile. Which is a shame because, well, fuck scousers.

He's been dribbled past about 4 or 5 times. People have posted vids all over twitter.

But the press still go with the same narrative that he hasn't been. Which goes to prove that you probably shouldn't believe everything you read. Especially when it comes to Liverpool.

Though that's pretty similar to Alderweireld, who is also rarely dribbled past due to his superb reading of the game.

VVD has had a great season, as have Liverpool in general. But I'd probably say a change in the way they play, additional personnel (Allison, Fabinho, Keita) are also a reason why they have the best defensive record in the league. In the same way that Alderweireld signing for us wasn't the reason alone our defensive record was the best for 2 years running but the fact our style was different and we put in defensively solid midfielders (Dier, Dembele, Wanyama) instead of relying on Mason and Bentaleb.

PFA Player Of The Year

Harry Kane
N'Golo Kante
Jamie Vardy
Ryiad Mahrez
Mesut Ozil
Dimitri Payet

PFA Young Player Of The Year

Harry Kane
Dele Alli
Jack Butland
Romelu Lukaku
Phillipe Coutinho
Ross Barkley

Not sure Barkley and Coutinho have done enough to get on that list. Eriksen should be on there, and Dier too...but I suppose I'm biased.

How the fuck Eriksen is not on YPOTY is madness. I think Barkley is a promising player but most games you don't know that he is on the pitch, very limited influence. Strong arguments for the other contenders but obvious omission is Dier. Butland has been fantastic this season, but surely to be the best player for the season you have to at least play a full season??? Ali or Kane nailed on winner.

As for POTY nominations all worthy candidates except bug eyes, he is shit. For me and my obvious bias Alderweireld should be nominated. Winner between Kane and Marhez.

Although don't discount the fairy tale winner of Vardy, he played for Fleetwood four years ago, racially abused a man in a casino a year ago, scored record number of consecutive goals in the PL... The PFA have form with these sorts of winners, see L Suarez 2014.
Not disagreeing but for me Vardy has a valid attempt if he scores more than Kane, currently Kane has scored more. I think Marhez is a far better footballer than Vardy.

Fucking ridiculous that Toby doesn't get a nomination. One player that plays in the defensive half nominated across both categories shows the general under appreciation of good defenders.

For me:

Player of the Year: Mahrez

Young Player of the Year: Alli

Team of the season:

De Gea
Walker - Alderweireld - Smalling - Rose
Mahrez - Ozil - Kante - Payet
Kane - Vardy
