It's such a sham, no defenders? Kane won't (or shouldn't win our player of the year), it's got to be Alderweireld

Bertrand ahead of Rose LB?

LMFAO

Still Terry nearly managed joined up writing and his team wasn't all white

I agree, but it's always going to be biased towards attacking players.

The only way to change it, would be to stop having the voting include an actual POTY vote. Just a vote for 11 spots in a team of the year. Whoever gets the most votes in that is the POTY.

The idea just struck me now, and I'd be a big fan of that, actually.

Fucking ridiculous that Toby doesn't get a nomination. One player that plays in the defensive half nominated across both categories shows the general under appreciation of good defenders.

For me:

Player of the Year: Mahrez

Young Player of the Year: Alli

Team of the season:

De Gea
Walker - Alderweireld - Smalling - Rose
Mahrez - Ozil - Kante - Payet
Kane - Vardy
Ozil ahead of Alli?

Fuck off

Never understood why this doesn't happen after the season is over Mane could score 8 goals including 4 dramatic late winners that wins liverpool the title between now and the end same goes for man of the match in the 85th minute when the most significant contributions often happen at the death.

Toby not being on there is a joke,
Should definitely be in team of the season and one or two from us could have a strong case also seeing we have the best defence.

How the fuck Eriksen is not on YPOTY is madness. I think Barkley is a promising player but most games you don't know that he is one the pitch, very limited influence. Strong arguments for the other contenders but obvious omission is Dier. Butland has been fantastic this season, but surely to be the best player for the season you have to at least play a full season??? Ali or Kane nailed on winner.

As for POTY nominations all worthy candidates except bug eyes, he is shit. For me and my obvious bias Alderweireld should be nominated. Winner between Kane and Marhez.

Although don't discount the fairy tale winner of Vardy, he played for Fleetwood four years ago, racially abused a man in a casino a year ago, scored record number of consecutive goals in the PL... The PFA have form with these sorts of winners, see L Suarez 2014.

This whole player of year thing this year has just highlighted further the reason Leicester and Spurs are up the top is that they are full of standout but interdependent performances, they are TEAMS.

Both Spurs and Leicester could put up at least 5 players between the two categories

Payet has been the best attacking player this year. He's been amazing. I'd pay handsome, handsome money to break those wankers hearts by buying him.

The best player in the League is quite easily Toby Alderweireld though.
