I think PEH should be starting in the tougher games. He’s a bit more reliable on the ball, tough tackler and all round a bit more of a safer bet of the pair. Bentacur and Bissouma will probably be our starters for the lower teams where we need to worry less about defending and more about breaking teams down. I like PEH but the other two tend to swivel and pass forward and also don’t hesitate to run with the ball.
Surprised to see Doherty has got essentially no games time this season so far. Romero is such a good defender, I feel he makes up for any inadequacies from Dohertys defending. Besides if Emerson is a 7/10 defender, Doherty is a 6. It’s not a huge difference. Doherty offers more going forward though so it’s probably a reversal on their strengths. Perhaps Emerson in the tougher games and Doherty in the teams we need to breakdown
Conte’s going to have to start rotating though. We’ve got a lot of games between now and the WC so we need to flex our squad depth
