Tbf, Alonso has been highly impressive for Leverkusen. Has them playing great stuff and has had some big results this season. Through to a European Cup semi final too.

Defensive midfielders seem to be making great managers.

Would alonso be better than naglesmann?
His career is on the up and we are a progression on leverkeusen whereas naglesmann might be affected by his Bayern sacking and view us as a stepping stone

Levy is just getting us that creative midfielder that we have been asking for.

Haven’t read further on in the thread but see links with other managers such as alonso. Not sure why we are messing about and not just going direct for JN and have a no2 lined up. He is defo the best of those we have been linked with and was good enough for BM two years ago. I think majority would be more than happy with his appointment. Alibis May piss off to dippers eventually abd VK to citeh. JN has no such allegiances. It’s stupid pissing around with all these other managers unless the board have had discouraging signals from JN.
Don't think anyone would be too unhappy with one of Nagelsmann, Slot or Kompany.

Any one else and it’s just going to be a bad atmosphere. Waiting to jump on the manager as soon as a few bad results come in.

Could probably understand age reservations after AVB.

Same age too.
But JN has had far more top level experience than AVB. Isn’t the saying if you’re good enough you’re old enough? Levy would be a twat to discount JN due to age. After all BM thought he was worth taking on at 33 and we are not exactly in theyd league. VK and alonso arnt exactly pensioners?

Nobody in the media knows who it’s going to be. Hell, I bet even levy does given the chaos he seems to operate in nowadays.

Hopefully we have it done by the end of the season but who’d be surprised if we are sat here in 6/7 weeks time still without a manager?

The Alonso links are definitely interesting. But the question is if he wants to make the jump to the Prem so soon into his head coaching career.

He has much less media attention on him in Germany so he is allowed to focus on his craft without the scrutiny that he would definitely get in England.

I dont think anyone is our number 1 target. We're just souding out a bunch of people it seems and taking time.
Not what i want, think the Coach and DF needed to be in already for the summer so they can observe this car crash.

I dont want them coming in late June and "evaluating" the squad. Dier is shit, EJECT!

To be clear, Alonso took over in October when they were 17th of 18 with 5 points from 8 games.

W13 D4 L5 since then in the league and into the semifinals of the Europa League where they'll play Mourinho's Roma.

And the football fits, that's the thing. Nagelsmann, Alonso, Svensson and Glasner all do.

There is no candidate we're after that's such a historic genius to be worth rendering a ton of our squad not fit for purpose, that's just never going to work. We have enough pieces that need replacing who can never be good enough under ANY manager.
Not bad, but it's not 2 from 8 is it???

Oh please can we fucking not, seriously?
Why is it there's this epidemic of massively unproven former PL legends getting jobs at top clubs way before they're ready for it? It lierally hasn't worked in a single instance except Arteta, and he was learning off Pep, possibly the best to ever do it. Leverkusen are 6th in the Bundesliga, 6 pts off top 4 with 4 games to go, which represents going backwards over last season when they finished 3rd, and this is supposed to be our saviour? Fuck off.

We've tried the proven former manager path and it didn't go so well.

I'm going to put aside any ill feelings and support whoever the club appoint.

Except that cunt Rodgers.
